The violin music was quite eerie, and Fuu had been both wanting to avoid and investigate it... as the nights had gone by and the music grew louder, more insistent, the urge to investigate was winning over. She didn't have Umi and Hikaru to talk to about it. She did have Owain and Eren, but she had a feeling Owain's advice would be to go for it with all gusto, never mind safety.

But tonight it was impossible to ignore, and she had donned her gem and slipped out. She would keep her distance, and she had her sword and her magic. So she could escape quickly if there was need, right? And it made sense to figure out what was going on. It was coming from beyond the mist, and the mist needed to be investigate.

As she got further towards the sound her sensible self was doing a better job of talking her out of it (don't you remember Caldina?) when she spotted someone she certainly would not have expected to see. "Otani-san? What are you doing here?" The question popped out before she could consider its politeness.
