Either Shirou was so focused on his task at hand that he hardly noticed her, or she was very light of foot. Either way, once he was satisfied with the knife that he acquired, the redhead turned towards the bacon as he prepared to cut it into portions. Contemplating their size, he just about dropped the projected blade in his hand when the young girl piped up from behind him. His back tensed up as the gravity of her words kicked in. He knew that eventually, especially if trouble was afoot, he would have to rely on his powers to protect people who needed him. That being said, he didn't want Tohsaka knowing that he was brandishing his abilities out in the open. Being a magus was something only seen in fiction from his world, meant to be kept a secret otherwise you were labelled as someone to be eliminated to protect the secrets of the magi.
Though in his defense, he thought he was alone. Though he intended to become a proper magus under Rin's tutelage, Shirou wasn't exactly a conventional one when you paired him up with someone like her. Needless to say, he'd been founded out and he can only nervously smile before rubbing the back of his head.
Whoever this girl was, she certainly wasn't human. She had the shape of one, but Kit's nose and tail were a certain giveaway of that.
"Hello. Uhm..." He may as well have tried. "Do what?"
