Perhaps there is a more efficient way than chipping at the crystal, though I can't say I wouldn't have made the same attempt. Perhaps Chime might have a suggestion to offer? If she can understand the trapped being, it might be that they could provide us with the knowledge needed to free them. Or at the very least, additional clues which would aid us in gaining the full picture.
