He probably didn't mean to, but that feeling was saturated in his words, let alone the almost melancholic expression that was clear in his face. She didn't understand it. So often of late, he seemed... almost sad. He smiled more, but in contrast there was something there that made her feel as though his heart had been broken.

But then Zero had never been interested in anyone. On the contrary, no matter her attempts to get him out and to mingle with others, or even just look at a girl was nothing but a joke. He just wasn't interested, because he had never thought that sort of thing was allowed.

With a frown, she stopped joking. Concerned, and confused, both hands lifted and reached out to cup either side of his cheeks. Her eyes danced back and forth as she studied the pretty, pale violet gaze that stared into her own.

"Zero...." A soft murmur, as one of her thumbs stroked his cheek, her gaze firm yet questioning. "What's wrong, Zero?" Look at her. "Lately, although I can't really understand, it feels as though you've been at a loss." It was different from his fight and struggle with his vampirism. "You can talk to me. No matter what, you can always talk to me about anything."
