Action (CLOSED); Video (OPEN)
| characters | Yuuki + Zero
| date/time | May 5th, Afternoon
| location | Near the mist barrier
| rating | PG for now?
| summary | Music compulsion... even in the midst of a storm!
It was so pretty. Haunting maybe, in a way that reached deep inside her. The sound of the violin echoed through the air despite the storm. Bare feet stepped across the wet and muddy ground, while a leaf was held above her head to try and shield her hair from the heavy drops of rain. Since the day before, the heavens had really opened up. Although the wind was what made travel outside all the more complicated. Whenever a strong gust swept past it was all she could do to keep her feet planted on the ground.
At the mist barrier, she stopped to listen a moment, eyes closed. Even despite the storm, still the music played on. Not even mother nature was enough to prevent it. With a gust of wind, her protective leaf blew away, but she caught herself. Right here seemed to be as close as she could get, it looked like.
Without thinking too deeply on it, she lifted her now free hand up into the air, while one of her feet drew up. Slowly she turned upon her toes in a circle as she listened to the music, and then shifted in time to it. A dance meant for two but played out by only one. She moved to the sound of his voice, however. It was beautiful.
[Amber]
[ The girl appearing within the Amber glass looks as though she's just gotten out of the bath. Or more like the rain in this case. While her clothes are dry, a set of clothing is clear behind her, hanging up on the wall, and dripping a puddle of water beneath it. Even her brown hair is still saturated, drops of water sliding down the wet locks, even as she squeezes some of it to dry. She pokes the Amber and frowns momentarily.]
It always feels so weird using this thing... Hi- [ She lifts a hand up in a small wave, smiling a little sheepishly.] I hate interrupting everyone, but I was curious. What do people think of that pretty song that's been played of late? Others have heard it too, right? You know... on the violin, accompanied by a man's beautiful voice.

Amber
I think you need your hearing checked.
[That sound is anything but beautiful.]

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure that is more like the mating call of an injured goat in heat.
[Or. Something.]

[ What a weirdo guy ]
Is your taste in music so refined?
no subject
Hardly, but I'm definitely questioning your taste. There's no refinement at all to it. It just sounds bad.

[Which...hey. Might as well.]
Why don't you show me if you're dying to so much?

Amber
[Kit leans in a bit closer to the amber, trying to get a good look at the girl on the other end of the line.]
Were you just out in the storm?
no subject
[ She... blinks a little while speaking to the other girl. She's a... cat? She's seen her around a little (the tree isn't that large after all) but neither have spoken before. ]
I was outside a bit ago. A friend dragged me back inside though.
no subject
[Yep, a cat. Kit's seen Yuuki around as well, but hasn't learned her name yet.]
Well then your friend is smart. You shouldn't go outside in weather like this; you could get hurt.
no subject
[ Although maybe that was a bit unlike her. Honestly, the last thing she wants is blown away. ]
Maybe the storm is obscuring the sound a little?
no subject
[Something is sure making people act weird, though. Maybe it's the music?]
No, if it was just that I'd be able to tell. This is something else. I can't tell whether it's something that's been added in or something that's been taken away, but the music just doesn't sound right...
no subject
A friend of mine seems to think it's a spell of some kind.

Similar to her, however, any attempts with making an umbrella quickly failed. Being out in the storm felt like being steadily pelted with sizable water balloons, and it hardly took even half a minute for him to be completely soaked.
"—Yuuki!" He called out while making his way. The music on its own wasn't exactly loud, but the weather didn't help much. Right as he reached her, a hand moving to take one of hers, Zero's eyes widened upon catching sight of the man.
. . . a very dead man.
"What the. . ." He looked to her again, again worried. "Hey. Yuuki, come on. We can't stay out here—"
no subject
Surprised to find him out with her, she glanced down at the hand that clasped hers. It was warm, compared to how she felt a little chilly, not to mention water logged in the rain. She ignored the rain as much as she could when she glanced back up at him.
"Hey, it's all right. I'm going to stay out here for a bit, but you can go in. I want to listen to the music a while longer."
no subject
His attention moved hack to the man briefly, brows knit, before back to Yuuki.
"That man isn't human at all. He looks dead to me, and his pulse is off, as well."
no subject
She turned back toward the direction of the violin. Honestly, it was difficult for her to see anything past the rain. The sound of that haunting melody reached down deep inside her. She tried to ground herself as a gust of wind blew strong and she felt herself pushed forward into Zero, her cheek squished up against him.
"To think he could play like this in the middle of a storm, though."
no subject
He let out a breath. "I can't believe this to be one of your delusions, though." He hadn't wanted to mention it, but it was the truth. Hers were bloody, frightening, and at times, violent.
The way she was nearly swept off her feet had Zero keeping an even more secure hold upon her. "If we stay out here, you're bound to get sick."
no subject
Reluctant, she nodded when a second gust whipped past them strongly. The desire to move once more, and let the music carry her was there, but Zero was worried, clearly.
"I guess that's fine... " She frowned heavily. "Somehow I don't really want to leave though." Even if she would. "It feels like a waste to do nothing in regards to the music."

[She greets her with a serious expression. She squints at her appearance, has she been bathing or she has been caught by the rain?]
That music makes me wary of what could come.
( amber )
Mm... Zero seems to think so too. It's really difficult to ignore, though.
