Action (CLOSED); Video (OPEN)
| characters | Yuuki + Zero
| date/time | May 5th, Afternoon
| location | Near the mist barrier
| rating | PG for now?
| summary | Music compulsion... even in the midst of a storm!
It was so pretty. Haunting maybe, in a way that reached deep inside her. The sound of the violin echoed through the air despite the storm. Bare feet stepped across the wet and muddy ground, while a leaf was held above her head to try and shield her hair from the heavy drops of rain. Since the day before, the heavens had really opened up. Although the wind was what made travel outside all the more complicated. Whenever a strong gust swept past it was all she could do to keep her feet planted on the ground.
At the mist barrier, she stopped to listen a moment, eyes closed. Even despite the storm, still the music played on. Not even mother nature was enough to prevent it. With a gust of wind, her protective leaf blew away, but she caught herself. Right here seemed to be as close as she could get, it looked like.
Without thinking too deeply on it, she lifted her now free hand up into the air, while one of her feet drew up. Slowly she turned upon her toes in a circle as she listened to the music, and then shifted in time to it. A dance meant for two but played out by only one. She moved to the sound of his voice, however. It was beautiful.
[Amber]
[ The girl appearing within the Amber glass looks as though she's just gotten out of the bath. Or more like the rain in this case. While her clothes are dry, a set of clothing is clear behind her, hanging up on the wall, and dripping a puddle of water beneath it. Even her brown hair is still saturated, drops of water sliding down the wet locks, even as she squeezes some of it to dry. She pokes the Amber and frowns momentarily.]
It always feels so weird using this thing... Hi- [ She lifts a hand up in a small wave, smiling a little sheepishly.] I hate interrupting everyone, but I was curious. What do people think of that pretty song that's been played of late? Others have heard it too, right? You know... on the violin, accompanied by a man's beautiful voice.

Before anything else, though, he shivered. It was a shame he had on his clothes from home, rather than the ones the Tree provided, mostly as things took a while to dry by air (he was seriously [still] missing electricity, quite honestly.
He made his way to get one of the squirrel pets, scrubbing his hair a moment before handing it over to Yuuki. "It won't do much, but here."
no subject
She moved forward and tossed the pelt back over his head to scrub once more, before she frowned and glanced over his clothes.
"You got all wet following me out there. What if you catch a cold?" She plucked at the buttons on his shirt with a sigh and began to undo them. "Let me at least help warm you up. We need to get you changed, too."
no subject
So, for now, he let her.
Even though he did frown a bit. "You were out there longer than I was. You should worry about yourself."
The remark that she would try to warm him up didn't really help, either. Her being so closer and all.
no subject
A light shrug was what she gave as answer. "It's chilly, but with the two of us so close like this, I think it makes it warm." While he was cold, she could feel the way he seemed to generate body heat. She grinned up at him. "What do they say? if two people cuddle up close it helps, right?
Playful she leaned forward to rub her shoulder up against his chest, like a cat.
"Warmer?"
no subject
Which was even worse, because he had to refrain from returning the affection. The fact that she was not 'his' Yuuki remained ever clear at the front of his mind. She was not the Yuuki he had kissed before, nor danced with at a masquerade. She wasn't the Yuuki who had at one point taken his memories (an act which Zero had by now moved past; there no reason at all for him to linger on that event). The only constant, though, was she was still the Yuuki he loved; still the one who always had, and will, consume him whole. Human or vampire, it didn't matter. She had never gone against him, even during the time when he had, to her.
"Ah. . ." Quiet. He knew what she meant. Still, the proximity was both jarring, and a comfort. She wouldn't ever not be that way to him.
"I guess I might have been lost without Yuuki to help, huh." Beyond the mild amusement, though, the words felt all too bittersweet upon his tongue, their taste lingering throughout him. As if her were mourning her in those moments.

But then Zero had never been interested in anyone. On the contrary, no matter her attempts to get him out and to mingle with others, or even just look at a girl was nothing but a joke. He just wasn't interested, because he had never thought that sort of thing was allowed.
With a frown, she stopped joking. Concerned, and confused, both hands lifted and reached out to cup either side of his cheeks. Her eyes danced back and forth as she studied the pretty, pale violet gaze that stared into her own.
"Zero...." A soft murmur, as one of her thumbs stroked his cheek, her gaze firm yet questioning. "What's wrong, Zero?" Look at her. "Lately, although I can't really understand, it feels as though you've been at a loss." It was different from his fight and struggle with his vampirism. "You can talk to me. No matter what, you can always talk to me about anything."

It was what he was drawn to from the moment they met, and the way she showed such unconditional kindness, while tending to him. She had always been the one thing - the one and only person - who instilled him with even a fraction of hope. And the one thing that kept him aloft, throughout everything.
All of it which made this more agonizing.
He couldn't help himself from lifting both hands to cover Yuuki's own. Leaning into the soft touch just a bit, he closed his eyes. As if, for the moment, her memories matched up with his.
( There are things I can't tell you. Far too many ), he felt the words at the tip of his tongue. As if with one small stumble, they would all come forth. But, he didn't know what to say. There was only so very much that he could.
"I just want to the be by your side." It was the only thing to come. The closest thing he'll ever have to really telling her how he felt. At the least, in this place. Although even at home, her heartbreak was still so fresh in the wake of Kuran's actions. . . . But at least he was able to say exactly - for once - what he was thinking. He had to wonder, even so, though, if she would truly return the words: that she wanted to be with him.
In the end, he couldn't possibly allow himself to dwell on those feelings, though. It wouldn't do anything, here.
"I know, though." He allowed himself one more move, tipping his forehead in lightly against hers. "I'll always know, and remember that. So don't worry."

Except for one little thing...
Her hands slipped from beneath his to clasp one of his own. On her heel she turned and gave a gentle tug to force him to follow along behind her. If nothing else, then he had to agree to this.
"Zero- lets go back to our house." A place that would be much more private than the opening to the tree.
no subject
Something that he likely wouldn't be able to convince her otherwise of, right?
However, he simply nodded, letting Yuuki lead the way.
"It still is so strange, isn't it," he spoke again after several long moments of silence. It was only in hopes that maybe he could lighten the conversation again. "To be living within a tree, of all things. And to have wings."
no subject
Her fingers tightened around his.
"You look handsome with your wings, though. I think they suit you."
no subject
He couldn't not notice their hands again, though waited until they were within their small home again to look at her.
". . .Is something wrong?" He frowned a bit, not letting her go quite yet.
no subject
She shook her head after a moment.
"No- of course not. But more so- " She reached up with her opposite hand, brows drawing down while she lifted up to cup his face. "Zero, there's something you need. Something that, since our arrival here, you've been avoiding."
And there was no way that he could deny it.
"That thing... I want to rectify it now."
no subject
All he could do was watch her, initially, the worry still lingering, while his own brows drew down.
"I told you I'm doing just fine." It wasn't a lie. He would always desire her blood, but he was being completely honest. "It's a deep wound for you." Even though they used to engage more and more frequently, up until Yuuki had awoken. Then again, he belatedly realized that there were people here who were capable of healing. However he preferred to not have the information that he was a vampire become public, which very well could happen, considering both the appearance and location of the wound.
"I know Yuuki really wants to help, but. . ."
no subject
"Would you stop being so stubborn!?"
There was no magical cure to vampirism, and she knew that much. She knew that he of all people knew that much!
"Maybe you are doing better, but since when have you looked at me so delicately? 'A deep wound,' really, Zero?"
If that was the type of thing she was worried about, then they would have had many more problems from a long time ago. The marks did take some time to fade away, but she didn't care about that. Her fingers released him and she reached up to pull her shirt up and over her head in a swift move. Her camisole remained beneath, which she left in place. With so few clothes, she wasn't about to sacrifice her outer wear, should anything spill.
Determined, this time she was not to be deterred. Voice firm, it echoed with authority as she pinned him in place without a chance yet to speak. He needed to hear everything she had to say, because she wouldn't allow him to look down on her anymore.
"Unless you have an unlimited supply of blood tablets, you should start to use your head." She glared fiercely up at him, hands upon his chest as she moved to undo the first button of his inner shirt.. She knew this game all too well. But it had been a long time since he pulled it on her. The blush that rested in her cheeks was present, but didn't cause her to falter.
"Would you stop hesitating, and drink already? If something happens and you aren't at full strength, how is anyone supposed to depend on you then? Save your tablets for an emergency! That kind of thing should be a give in!" If she wasn't around and he ran out, what would he do then? No matter how strong he was, he wouldn't be able to remain abstinent from blood forever. And she knew what could happen if that was the case. Jaw firm, her fingers nimbly slid the red tie from his uniform off and let it fall to the side.
"We agreed to this already a long time ago."
Her voice seemed to suggest that she wouldn't allow him to back out of their agreement now. Her eyes were firm, a clear brown gaze that burned with determination as she found his.
"Unless something has changed that you haven't told me about yet, then this is me, telling you, to stop treating me like a porcelain doll and to get on with it already. I want you to drink my blood."

The tightness within his chest remained, while his heart, too, began beating a little heavier, even sticking to the back of his throat. Although, that was only in part due to how she basically stripped. Not that he'd never seen her in the state she was in, nor was it very new for her to undo his shirt, but it still could throw him off. Enough so that there was a bit of a flush on his cheeks, as well.
. . . More so, however, was the fact that a deep crimson had begun to edge along his eyes, which he wasn't exactly aware of. Obviously there was no lying that, yes, he desired her blood. Like he always had. Even before she learned of what he was did he practically crave it.
What was challenging this time around, though, and given their circumstances of being from different points in time, was control. It wasn't that he suddenly had a loosened grip upon it, though. At least. He just had to put more effort into not letting it show. This Yuuki wasn't the one he had already kissed, or practically confessed to. She isn't the one who kissed back, either. He couldn't linger for long, either, no matter how much he could acknowledge in wanting to devour her whole.
"I'm—" He tried for a reply. Of course something had changed. A lot. He knew he couldn't escape her (not that he really wanted to, ultimately). Not by this point.
One of his hands balled into a fist for a moment. ( Fine. You win. ) Before she could even blink, then, he had flipped their positions, getting her to the wall and unable to help as an arm slipped around her waist. The other hand moved to slip within her hair, cradling the back of her head. Eyes slipping shut, he finally gave, letting his lengthened fangs sink into her throat with little more preamble. The shudder that made its way through him was difficult to hide in the moment the taste of her blood filled his senses.
It had been quite a long while, or so it felt, since he had done this.
