[ Ah-! Someone who possesses the darker gem! He smiles- and then blinks down at the hand held out in front of him. A form of greeting? Awkwardly, he lifts his clawed hand out into the air as well, but confidently. Different traditions are good!]
It is good to meet you, Orcelito. I am Hakuryuu. I have seen you around, so I am glad we have finally been given this opportunity.
[Oh, Kija, what are you doing scaring unsuspecting children with that claw? Orcelito jerks back in alarm. Granted, he is living with a cat so he’s gotten used to seeing claws on an otherwise human hand. But that is a scaled claw and it makes Kit’s hands look harmless in comparison and no he is not touching it.
He wants to ask what you are, but that’s kind of rude, so he’ll just find his smile again and maintain a polite distance.]
Uh… Wait, your name is Hakuryuu? Oh, I get it, you have the same name as Hakuryuu Ren. Are you from the same world as him?
[ Well- at least he is used to people reacting to it. He simply allows the hand to fall back down to his side. The name, though is one he definitely recognizes. ]
Ah- we... are not from the same world. [ At least he assumes so. From what he's heard, he doesn't believe so. He hesitates after a moment. ] Hakuryuu is what I am known as and called by most- The White Dragon. But, if it is confusing... [ He...doesn't like sharing the name much. His sacred title... ] Kija is fine, too.
[White dragon? Would that mean… oh! This man is a dragon like Kit is a cat! It makes sense now; his pale features, silver hair, and scales. Hm… this is only the second time Orcelito has met a dragon (Riona’s companion Ninna being the first). They seem quite different. Still, Orcelito looks more accepting now.]
Pleasure to meet you, Kija. It’s a lovely name. [He motions to the others gathered beside the gemstones.] I’m glad you’ve come. We could use more people helping to solve the riddle.
[ He glances around the room himself, lifting his hand up to his chin in thought. ] I saw it before, but did not think much on it in the past. [ It feels a little like playing along with the games of this place. And he has heard of the spiders in the past. ]
Will solving the riddle genuinely benefit the people here? [ He's not opposed to moving forward. Just unsure of what will greet them. ]
I cannot answer that for certain. None of us can. The last riddle unleashed the spiders, but it also opened access to new housing and Chime’s shop. Had we not done that, we would be running out of space to live and lack resources like metal and thread. [Orcelito tilts his head, thinking about it.] So I suppose it’s like a… trade. We may lose something, but we gain in exchange. I think it’s a good thing.
[ No gain without risk. At least that is a concept he can understand. He nods after a moment. Spiders is the very last thing he wants to face. Hopefully, if something does happen, it will be something easier. Like a bear. ]
Then all we can do is be prepared. I am still glad to help either way.
