[Saber's face immediately appears on the amber surface and, from behind her, there are glimpses of Chime's recently opened shop.]

Good morning. To those who were not aware, the spirit known as Chime has just opened her shop and brought wares that are not available to us in the tree. [She is inwardly pleased to know that means this creature too can leave the tree somehow, but she will try to communicate with her later.] However, these items are not free and we cannot afford them alone. Their stock seems to be very limited as well. The answer is obvious, many of us surely have concluded that the solution is reuniting with close allies to purchase the desired ware with them, but I will suggest something else.

[She has been speaking about this matter with some people already, but she has had no time to propose an assembly outdoors to discuss the organization overall they could have to improve their lives and call a vote. She pauses to make her proposal.]

There are basic items such as food or the string of yarn, among others, that are of a general interest. Why do not we, the potential purchasers, donate them in benefit of all of us? We should assign a space as a storeroom to keep all what belongs the community and be sure that they are given a fair use.

[If this is accepted, she will bring up the delegated tasks for those who are specialized in different fields to optimize their lifestyles. Because raw ingredients could be better utilized in hands of good cooks than inexpert ones.]

If you do not agree, it is fine. I only wanted to address that, for the time being, we are expected to live together and a cohesive group stands stronger than one that lives with cordial divisions.

[with one last buzz of his dragonfly wings, Shirou pocketed his own day gem as well as they came to greet Saber. he was interested in the condition of this piece they were going to buy. it was difficult to rationalize it until he could see it for himself. it was a piece of bacon apparently... how were they going to split that up? he was already psyching himself up for it being huge considering how tiny they all were, but he had to reserve himself least he was disappointed. so long as it was eadible, he'd happily play his part]

The best way to tell is by the smell and the color of it- sometimes the texture too. Even if it doesn't smell bad, if it doesn't look right, we gotta be careful.

[perhaps they couldn't be too picky if this was one of their only shots at getting genuine meat to cook with. now if he had rice too...]

[ Saber assents at Illya's caution, glancing at Shirou so he will be the one tasked to inspect if the bacon and egg were good. She falls a step behind Shirou, peering the stand contents. ]

Just as I thought. You are very knowledgeable about food. And the egg? Can you discern if it is good to purchase as well?

[ makes sense. saber's really thought this through and seems the type that can probably handle problems should they come her way. but in the end it makes her wonder— ]

I want to ask you something. Why are you doing all of this?

[ Illya nods several times as she listens to her older bro- no, to Shirou's explanation, walking alongside the two of them without straggling too far behind. She was also amazed at the fact that the food was big here- now, if only food were like that back at home, then they'd end world hunger! - it would make life easier. But all worlds had their problems it seemed. ]

Is it even possible to cook the egg, onii-chan? It would probably be too difficult to cook it as a sunny-side up egg, I think... [ Not that Illya knows much about cooking besides what Fujimura-sensei taught her in class.

But they are not eating the egg raw. And it's there where her stomach kind of rumbles. ... Ahaha. ] I- I haven't eaten anything yet today...

[he remembered when he first found Tohsaka here that she asked him if they were either in a massive tree or they were just extremely tiny. if he ever needed reassurance that he made the right choice when he said they were tiny? it was the sheer look of shock as his jaw dropped at the sight of the egg that was as large as he was. it looked like a chicken egg...most of them were about two inches large at average... this was a sizable one for certain. he approaches the egg before placing his hands over it. the bacon would be easier to inspect, but...]

[Saber and Illya's questions to him just about barely registered before he looked back over his shoulder to them. how were they going to carry this thing?! that and the bacon! they'd have to haul it carefully...]

If you can shake the egg and hear it sloshing around inside, it's not good. But at our size, I don't know if we'd be able to help hearing the tiniest things. If I had a big enough body of water I could drop the egg in it. If it doesn't float, it's usually still good.

[he steps back and brings a hand to his chin as he muses over the possibilities of how to use this egg]

We'd just have to scoop out or make a hole for the egg white, unless we wanna break the yolk. [he honestly wanted to find a way to make this work]

I appreciate your aid, Sergeant Barnes. Now about the shop, what are you considering to purchase?

I'm pitchin' in with a friend to get some string; seems like we'd need it.

[knight_king]

Why?

[ she looks confused by that question, her perplexity briefly flashes on the amber. ]

Because it needs to be done.

I believe that is a good choice.

[ she notices it only because she's looking so intently at saber. there's a short pause as her gaze shifts to the side, like she's thinking. ] That's what I'm asking. Why does it need to be done? Why are you going through all this trouble? What do you get out of this?

I suppose [ she thinks about the answer and her resolution. ] this gives me a purpose.

[ Saber does not have the faintest idea of how many ways one can serve an egg, but she wants to try them all prepared by Shirou's skilled hands. Speaking of her Master, he seems busy, standing agape and gawking at the food offered on the stands. She turns to Illyasviel during his distraction and gives her a disapproval look.

Ah- [The question catches her slightly off guard. Because very few people in her life ask her thoughts and preferences.] The food, either the egg or the bacon.
