[There's a shiver through the whole tree, and the gem grows hot as fire in Hakuryuu's hand.]

[Upon seeing and feeling what's happening, Kit dashes over to the Night Gem and presses her shard of yellow stone against it, preparing herself for whatever comes next...]

[Another shiver makes the tree itself creak, and the gem in Kit's hand grows cold as ice.

Both the heat and the chill increases steadily, threatening to burn or freeze both adventurers.]

[Kit winces, shivering, but holds the gem in place, pressing her other hand over the one holding it so she won't pull her hand away out of reflex.]

Come help, everyone!

[Orcelito freezes in shock for a moment, then,]

Everyone, reform the line! Quickly!

[When that doesn't work, Orcelito runs to Kit and places his hands over hers, with his night gem bracelet wrapped around his hands.]

[It's probably a good thing pain is nothing to him now a days. Phenex's curse and the great fire are probably still the worst things he's ever had to live through.

[woah! Something was happening! Eren takes his dark blue gem necklace from around his neck, holding it in his hand. He dashes over to the Day Gem and presses his gem against it, then grabs Ren's free hand]

I'm pretty heat proof, so if you need to let go, don't feel bad! Do you think we're supposed to form a line across again?

I've lived through one fire, I can do it again.

Kit's here holding her gem on the night stone! [Orcelito calls.] Hakuryuu, Eren, be careful! This is dangerous. I'm going to call the plan off if this gets any worse. [Judging by Kit's expression, that will be soon. They can't hold on like this.]

[That doesn't nessicarily sit well with him, but at the same time other people don't have his experiences with getting stomped on by the world.]

[The heat and cold increases further, biting through flesh as if they were holding molten metal and dry ice, threatening grievous injury.

Cracks start to appear in the large gems from where the small pieces of the opposite kind is pressed into them, and the tree shifts enough to make everything rattle, like the whole thing was squirming.]

[The tree shakes and she tries to keep her balance, glancing at the ones gathered and linking their hands. She has promised she would protect them during this ritual.

What has happened? She advances toward them in case they need assistance.]

Ghhh....! It's really hot! But I'll be fine, I'll heal...!

[it was the others he was worried about. That and all the shaking. Were they doing it right...? He's going to have a hell of a burn]

[She wishes she knew any healing magecraft in times like these.]

Saber! C-come here and help Kit and I. I think we may need another day gem! [That would even them out with Hakuryuu and Eren.]

[The child was hurt and in pain, that's the decision turning. She would prefer if the children were kept away now, she would be able to replace her. Wordlessly, she approaches Kit and turns to Orcelito.]

Should I ask for more to come to assist?

[Oh this is bad this is really-]

K-Kit, can you take your hands off the shard; I'll try to hold it on in your place. [He pulls his sleeve cuffs over his hands.]

((OOC to Mods: Will the shards stay on the stones even if we're not holding them on?))

[Taking the hands of the shards make them fall to the floor, as the gems are not good for balancing them.]

((OOC: If Kit can't hold her's on anymore, can Orcelito hold it for her? (Not his gem and he has moth wings.))

[ If the cold didn't do it, the cracks on the gem in front of her would have. Kit is finally forced to pull back, stumbling back a bit and dropping her shard of day gem on the floor.

She stands there rubbing her hand, stiff with cold, to try and work some life back into it. She avoided frostburn only because of her fur.]

Everybody let go! We're gonna wreck the whole tree if we keep this up!

[Not to mention burn/freeze their hands off.]

Let's everybody line up and join hands, then try again.

[Orcelito tries to grab the gem and hold it on for her, but screams and drops it. He staggers backwards and falls to the ground.]

Ugh... o-ouch... Everyone, s-stop as she says!

Alright, alright...

[Eren removes his shard from the big gem, hoping that the shaking will stop. He glares down at his hand, which hisses out water vapor as it heals]

Well... it did something. We just have to fine tune it, right?

[He should let go, common sense said to let go. Sadly common sense isn't something he processes when it comes to accomplishing something he's deemed important and this could get them closer to home.

On the other hand he has one good real limb left, so should be really continue to risk it...he didn't cave under Phenex's curse, and if he'd given up in the fire he'd be dead. Still the the gems are cracking and breaking.]

H-Hakuryuu, let go! Eren, you too!

[He sighes in relief when Eren lets go. You next, Hakuryuu!]
