Amber ⚔ 1
[how long has Shirou been here, using the amber every once in a while to talk to a couple of people, but never outright saying anything to the public? almost two months? how much time has passed? granted Shirou isn't much of a 'public speaker' so to speak.
otherwise whenever he finally got a cell phone his contacts list would be rather small. but here was a little different. everyone was just like him, right? they all came from different worlds, those that banded together to take on that snake some time ago (unfortunately he missed the aftermath), and even within his own circle of friends and allies...]
Hopefully everyone I met when that snake came a while ago is doing alright. I don't think there was a lot of time for us to get to know each other with everything going on, but,
[he lightly smiles before blinking into the amber. ...this was working, right? he was fine with technology and he's used it before. but not to talk to...well, everyone]
Ah...well, anyway, for anyone that I haven't met here yet, my name's Shirou Emiya. I'm from Fuyuki City in Japan, for anyone who might know where that is. Nice to meet you all. [what else? this wasn't like introducing himself in school. realizing that, he stops there]
Let's see...
To be honest, I'm not sure what else to say. We're all in the same situation here, but it's only a matter of time until we figure out a way to go back home. I like to think I'm pretty good at fixing things here. [but not just for fixing things] If anyone needs a hand with anything around here, let me know.

Anyway, did you just show up here? I haven't seen you around before.

[ Gil-kun... ]
Anyway, yes, I just showed up here today! I've been exploring and getting to know the tree, and now I'm trying to see who's living in it! [ For a king must know his subjects! ]
no subject
[maybe he was worrying over nothing]
Did you find anybody that you know?
no subject
[ Not really "get to know," Gil wasn't interested in anything that intimate. He just had a professional interest in gauging the sentiments of his people, and all people were his people. ]

[he wasn't judging him so much as it was an honest observation. Shirou's honesty had more tendencies to get him into trouble than get him out of it]
Still, it is nice to see more positivity around here.

[ A new place, with new people, still alone in the world. That was merely a day in the life of a hero. If Gil had any complaints, it was that most of his treasury was missing. ]
You take what you're given and just go!

charismacheerfulness that he carried with him. part of him couldn't help but wonder if he knew more than he let on, or if he truly was just such a bright little child]That's right. Hopefullly we can all figure a way out of here sometime.
What do you know about this place so far? [in case Shirou can attempt to get him up to speed]

[ Gil actually didn't care about the how and why of the summoning too much. That heroes were summoned to strange places was only natural after all. He just wanted to know where his stuff went, and even then, he was fairly confident he was still the wealthiest person here by a good margin so he was willing to temporarily give up some of his treasury. ]
Oh, and the bath is really nice!

[he's missing having some egg white around to make some good breakfast and treats]

[ Gil rubbed his chin, an idea slowly dawning upon him. Maybe he could replace some of the stuff he lost after all. ]
But never mind the animals, do you have any barrels or clay vats around, onii-san?
no subject
... clay vats?
[he knew what those were, but the question did seem quite out there]
No, I don't have either of those. I've never made a barrel before. [the statement wasn't so much rejection as much as it was him putting it on the backburner of ideas of things to make, for whatever reason. a rain barrel would be great though! thanks for the idea!] Why do you ask?
no subject
[ There are no ancient empty wooden barrels in the treasury of Uruk, but there's plenty of earthenware. Gil disappears off the Amber for a moment before popping back out with a big clay tub that looks... incredibly expensive to those who like antiques and/or archaeology. "Can probably buy a few houses in a good neighbourhood with it" expensive.
Who could possibly have perfectly preserved six thousand year old pots?
Not that it's the sort of thing you can easily tell through the Amber. ]
Thanks, onii-san! I'll just have to get a few twigs and make the barrel myself. It's not quite oak, but I think it'll do.
