| summary | The beginning of this player plot! Illya decides to hold a party for everyone since the wine she made with Gil about a month ago should be ready to go. Food and drinks will be provided - though feel free to bring your own - and all characters are invited! However, things don't go right and Ruby ended up spiking some of the food and drinks, causing some of the characters to de-age.



[ After sending out a quick amber message to everyone announcing that she had plans on holding a banquet for several reasons: the success of the quest and the safe return of everyone who participated in it, getting some great items from Chime's shop, and any other excuse that anybody could possibly come up with.

She's managed to set up things rather beautifully; there's crystals that decorate the area that Illya's made with Caster's magic, and just making things as fancy as she possibly can, more or less.

Illya has the wine ready in her hands - please don't ask why a twelve year old has that - but she promises she's not drinking it! Besides, people probably want some variety besides the alcohol that was bought out, right? There's also water for those who don't drink.

Anyway, it's time to have fun and party... and possibly not enjoy the mishaps after. ]

( ooc: And this post announces the start of the deaging player plot! It's an opt-in event, so you can have your characters deage to any point in time either physically or both physically/mentally or not, if you want to avoid doing that. Effects are somewhat immediate, and can last as long as you want during the duration of the event, which ends on August 8th. This is also a mingle log, so feel free to thread as much as you want. And characters are free to make their own separate posts for the deaging as well! If you have any questions feel free to hit me up. )

[ If the tree had popcorn, Gil would be sitting with the biggest bowl possible right now. Ruby had approached him behind Illya's back and borrowed the Potion of Youth he had just retrieved from Chime. It was as much Noble Phantasm as it was a mere potion and thus an eternal part of his vault, and he was already a kid, so he really didn't need it anyway.

He's just going to be enjoying the show from the side, with his own personal stash of (admittedly crudely) made wine. Don't ask for any, he's not going to share.

He has also provided a big fillet of trout for the party, because what else are you supposed to do with food? ]

[Orcelito dives down to the first floor, then halts abruptly. His wings fan open to hover and his eyes widen with interest as he looks around. This is quite an ambiance. Almost like home. The golden light of the Life Stream reflects in the crystals like candlelight on chandeliers, and the scents of fresh food and berry wine are inviting.

He lands neatly and his demeanor alters to complement the setting. An expression of surprise is traded for an affable smile, his posture is tall and confident, and his wings sweep back to form a velvety cape. Illyasviel has his attention and compliments immediately as he steps forward to greet her.]

This is beautiful, Illyasviel! You’ve created a lovely setting.

Ehehe... you think so? [ Illya laughs rather sheepishly as she rubs the nape of her neck sheepishly awkwardly. ]

I thought it would be nice to make things nice for once.

Absolutely. Banquets are meant to be elegant. And you have fashioned the finest one we’ve had yet. [And he’ll just keep charming away the hostess until – Oh! What’s that she’s holding?]

This is… wine? I didn’t realize we had any here.

I made it! [ Gil-kun waves from his corner of the room. ] Illya helped, but I turned the leftover berries from when we were getting too much food into wine! It's crude, but better than nothing.

[ If only he had his full Gate. ]

Really? That's... impressive. [Says the boy who made paper. Hey, wait, aren't you both young to be making wine?

If it is wine. One way to find out.]

May I? [Because he's seventeen now and it's legal where he's from.]

Illya says you can, so I don't see why not? [ He's not letting anyone into his share of the booze for free, and he doesn't get why Illya would just give her part of it away without having any herself, but Gil does enjoy a good party. ]

[ Illya pipes in after Gil with a rather sheepish smile. ]

Yeah, like Gil-kun said, it's totally fine!

[He tells himself it might just be berry juice. After all, children generally don’t understand the making of alcohol. But then he gets a better whiff of it and his curiosity is peaked.

Cautiously, he serves himself a small taste-test amount. He swirls it a moment, considering the scent. Then a light sip… the aroma of berries fills his senses, and a sharp kick to his palate solves his doubts.

This… is wine. A crude one – not at all what he’s used to – but a wine nonetheless.]

How did you know to make… this? [He pauses at the end because, for a moment there, he thought he was losing his voice. Huh. Must be the alcohol.]

Gil-kun was the one who knew how to make it. [ Basically he was the one who taught her, essentially. ]

I see. [Orcelito casts a glance at Gil. Surely a twelve-year-old girl does not need to know how to make wine. And where did Gil learn it from?

He turns a pleasant smile back to Illyasviel.] Well, I would advise against drinking any. For your age, it’s a bit too strong. [He hopes that is obvious, but just in case...]

Yeah, don't worry, I wasn't planning on drinking it in the first place!

[ Illya waves her hands frantically as if in apology, laughing hollowly. While she could probably tell him if he asked about why Gil knew about it, the question wasn't brought up so it doesn't even cross her mind. ]

[Not to worry! He joins her in a light laugh. He’s glad she’s responsible; it’s fine to consider it a misunderstanding that was thankfully avoided.

Satisfied with his investigation into the origins of this banquet, he sets off to enjoy himself. The scent of freshly cooked trout is wonderfully tempting. And once watered down, the ‘wine’ makes a fine compliment to the light flavor of the fish.

Fortunately for himself, Orcelito is a slow eater. It will take several minutes for him to notice that his sleeves are covering his hands and his clothing feels loose.

Unfortunate that this occurred after he finally decided that food in the Tree was safe.]

[He was more curious then anything. He didn't really go to the snake party-thing so it made sense to visit this one.

This is not what he was expecting from it. He's not sure what he expected but not the crystals, which definitely have his attention. He wasn't expecting the fish either.]

Where did this come from?

[He's pretty sure neither crystals or fish, and he can tell that's what it is, were in chime's shop.]

I was the one who made the crystals. [ There's a short pause as she laughs a little awkwardly. ]

Though apparently Gil-kun caught the fish during the quest.

Made them...?

[Though a flat look at the second part, then again stranger things have happened.]

That must have been something to see.

[2wei]

Mmhm.

[ She nods in reply, rather easily, in fact. ] I made them with magic.

[finallyfallen]

....Magic?

[Crystals out of magic, he's sure it's possible but which of the eight types would that be?]

It's impressive.

Yeah. [ Her smile brightens slightly, feeling rather enthused about the whole thing. ]

I think it's pretty amazing, too!

[He doesn't really think much about the wine really, who knows what the legal limit is in his world...if there is one. Except maybe where they found it.]

This is for the returning travelers...?

It's for everyone, not just the returning travelers!

I meant the reason behind the party.

[As if people need one. He's gonna ask, he's curious.]

Where did you get the wine?

[kingpika]

[ A barrel pops out of the ground in front of Ren. If he looks around for the source, he'll find Gil in his corner flashing a thumbs up. He seems altogether quite pleased with himself. ]

[finallyfallen]

[Strange children.

Once he regains his composure, because really he's not used barrels coming out of the ground....

much less with grinning children as the apparent source.]

That...is one way...?

[He's just going to investigate this barrel.]

[ It's a perfectly ordinary barrel made from wood found around the tree. Filled with berry wine. Unfortunately Gil didn't build any taps so if you want a drink you're going to have to do it the old fashion way: Take the top off and use a ladle. ]

Did you make this?

[He will try that in a moment, once he's more sure where it came from.]

I wasn't aware we had the abilities to do so.

[He's not really a drinker, and curiosity isn't usually a driving factor for him...but he wants to know if this is worth repeating taste wise.]

It's not difficult if you know how. The methods are ancient and crude, but all you need is fruits, yeast, and time.

[ He shrugs. He's sure it tastes fine. Not quite up to the incredible standards he's used to as King of Heroes, but passable.

Better than water, at least. ]

[He knows what goes into wine, he just didn't know they had all of the stuff necessary.

He's just not going to worry about it any more. Crude can be good, finery isn't the end all be all of the cooking world.]

Huh.

[May as well ladle some into a cup(or something to hold it at least, even if he has to grow it from his wooden arm, he'd rather not drink off the ladle).]

Well, we never got to properly celebrate everyone coming back, did we? So it's kind of party for that.

It's a good enough excuse.

[Even if he doesn't like parties all that much.]

Well, I don't know if you can call it an excuse, since that makes it sound like it's a bad thing...

[ Saber has not touched the wine, nor would she touch anything that is remotely connected to Gilgamesh as she wants nothing he could offer. She drank his wine once, it was during that disastrous Banquet of Kings she would rather forget about.

She is firmly positioned at the back, only to look after Illyasviel as she hosts her celebration and keep her safe. This is her Master, so she has sworn to protect her. ]

Saber-san! [ Someone here sounds rather enthusiastic, her lips curling up to a rather cheeky smile. ]

[knight_king]

Master.

[ Someone is not sharing that same enthusiasm, but she does greet her with a courteous and shallow bow. ]

Is everything proceeding as well as you foresaw?

[2wei]

Well. . .

[ She just laughs hollowly, rubbing the nape of her neck nervously. Illya does feel awkward being called 'Master', however. ]

[ Hm. 'Well...' is suspicious, so she gives Illya a guarded look and speaks lower. She knows the girl is fond of the King of Heroes. She thinks this is a dangerous attachment. ]

Is that Archer causing trouble?

No, Gil-kun didn't do anything.

[knight_king]

You have near blind trust in him.

[What happened with "we are not friends".]

But he really wouldn't do anything! I mean... it's not like he would try to do anything bad here.

[ Right? Right??? ]

[knight_king]

I do not know why he behaves in that manner. If it is because he is younger or if he is truly different in your world, however, Illyasviel...

[She wants to warn her to be cautious. Gilgamesh, the one she knows, is responsible for Berserker's Master's death.

She cannot hold that crime on this Gilgamesh's.]

No, forget this. As long as you promise to not lower your guard around him, I will trust your judgment.

Don't worry. If he tries anything, he's getting a huge slap in the face!

And he will not attack you if you do such thing? His conduct is confusing.
