[Quite frankly, the whole of this situation has Jae-Ha seething. This tree - this world - is nothing but a glorified cage. As pleasant as some of it may appear, there's no saving the fact that he's locked in, not to mention other people, as well. At the least, he seems to have caught on to that ray of sunshine, which he uses, but it's not as though it continues to erase all of the bitterness that comes with being here.

But nevertheless. —He seems more at ease, than not, when appearing.

. . . A certain White Dragon, though, just to the side of the screen, does not.]

This amber is very impressive, really. To think that conversing across distances can happen instantly was even remotely possible. . .

But ah- More importantly! My name is Jae-Ha, and I'd like to most humbly offer myself to assist anyone who would like a few lessons in flight, as I'm sure that coordination might be—

[He starts, only to be (rudely!) interrupted.] Jae-Ha! [It's clear the frantic, white haired dragon in the background is not at all happy with the situation, glaring at Jae-Ha from behind.] Your 'services' are hardly what is important right now. Get this off of me already!!

[That being Kija's gem is smack dab in the middle of his forehead, courtesy of some wonderful tree sap, therefore forcing the presence of his wings.]

Don't worry, it'll loosen up within a day. [or something]

That's too long! [He practically despairs.] I- I cannot stand to have these horrible things to be around for another second! AH-! [Nooooo] The Dragon Claw is sticky with sap now, too!

[Jae-Ha just lets out an exasperated sigh] They're a beautiful set of wings, Kija-kun. Now you can fly without any of my assistance, even. Take advantage of it. Your complaining will get you nowhere.

I REFUSE!! [Before Jae-Ha can do much of anything, then, a white scaled dragon claw reaches out and all but grabs his arm to get his full attention - and hopefully succeed in removing the stone, leading the feed to cut off short.]

[He, too, is distracted initially, with the sight of the small dragon (is it really that?). He's never seen an actual one before.

But nevertheless, rather than question, for now there's more important things.]

Incredibly so. I have plenty of years under my belt, and possess absolute control. I seem to have more of an issue with my normal skill, here, however I don't mind so much; I can work just fine with these wings we've all been granted.

[Well. It's more so that he's jumping, only to such an extent that appears like flying.

But anyway!]

Ah- You need not pay a cent. I don't claim to know how the monetary system works here, but even so, I couldn't possibly ask such a thing from you, young miss. There's much pleasure in flight, and I can teach you that.

[ this man sure talks a lot. it's interesting, and he doesn't seem like he's making fun of her either. and he definitely sounds confident. the 'more of an issue' part is concerning, but eh, this is the first offer she's heard. ]

Really...? Are you sure? [ she stares at him through the amber, skeptical. ] ... Well, if you can make it fun. I haven't had much luck on my own.

Of course. I can, and will, too. No need to be wary over it all. I'll be sure to keep a good hold on you, and be sure to not let you fall.

[ she tucks in her shoulders, feeling a bit self-conscious. ] I won't fall. I haven't fallen yet. But—how many others have accepted your offer? You won't have time to teach me personally.

[Keyword being 'yet.']

You're the first, actually, though even if you weren't, I would make the time.

Alright... You're very generous. [ almost too much. riona isn't used to this kind of thing. ] Then I'll take you up on that. You said your name is Jae-Ha? [ it may sound strange with her accent, but she pronounces it correctly. her own introduction comes after a pause. ] I'm Riona. And this is Ninna. Say hello.

[ the lithe dragon coiled about her host's shoulders reaches toward the amber screen and cries out happily, a sound that sounds like glass clinking together. ]

[Only the very best for any and all of the ladies. ♥]

Of course. It's a pleasure, Riona.

And to Ninna, as well. [It's clear that he's quite intrigued and impressed by such a sight.] She's very pretty. Are dragons a common thing where you're from?

[ goodness, such a charmer!

her smile is gone as quick as it came and she looks at ninna for a few moments before answering. ] No, not anymore. I'm taking care of her, though, so she isn't alone. [ speaking of dragons, a specific part of the pair's loud conversation comes to mind— ] What about your home? Your friend, he said something about a dragon's claw?

[A bit of a frown, himself.]

I see. My apologies if I touched on a sore subject. She's lucky to have you, then.

[But ah. He just lets out a breath, almost wanting to roll his eyes, because Kija, but he won't.]

Yes. He was born with the blood of the White Dragon, which grants him great strength within his right hand. He is one of the four dragon warriors in our world, known as Hakuryuu. I'm sure he'll be more than happy to go on and on about it, should you ask.

[ she shakes her head. this man was so polite, it's rather nice. she appreciates the apology, unexpected and unnecessary as it is. ] It's alright. Things are better now.

[ the amber's screen on her end shuffles just a bit as she moves into a more comfortable seated position, and then she brings the slice closer to her. this information is entirely foreign and it takes her a second to comprehend it all. she remembers that there are different people from different worlds out there, so she tries not to think about it all based on the rules of her home. easier said than done, of course. first and foremost, however— ]

Hakuryuu...? Another one? [ she looks curious now. ] Is that a common name? I met someone named Hakuryuu, in this place. He didn't say a word about dragons, though. And he's much quieter than your friend. [ she might be slightly, sliiightly teasing on that last part. ]

It's more so a title, but it's what he often gives when introducing himself. His real name is Kija.

[Well, the teasing is spot on. He might have smirked a little, were it not for the latter part.]

Another. . .? I can't say I've met him, then.

[ she shrugs. ] It could be a coincidence. His hair is black and his face is scarred a bit. [ in case either of them would like to talk to the boy in the future. ]

Kija. [ she nods, committing it to memory. ] He doesn't seem very happy to be here. I don't blame him, I don't like the wings either. But we need them.

I suppose it is. . . [strange, though.]

His [fear] hatred for insects is more so why he can't stand the wings; were they more bird-like, I feel he would be more accepting. He needs to learn how to adapt to them.

You're right, though. This place is incredibly horrid and ugly, for what it has done to all of us. It may be spacious and we are free to move as we please within it, but it's nothing more than some fancied up set of chains.

[ someone how speaks her thoughts out loud—she likes it. still, she doesn't forget what an acquaintance enlightened her about a few days earlier, that this place could be seen as a haven for those who come from harsher environments. she tries not to complain as much as a result, but the truth remains that she'd rather be in her own world. ]

I'm still searching for an exit. I intend to make it known should I succeed, but that's looking less likely each day.

[ that's all she'll say about that. now she makes a face, like she can't believe what she just heard. ] What's there to hate about insects? They're very friendly—most of them, I suppose. The ones here are especially nice. I've seen people with fireflies at their sides, like pets. You should get one for your friend. Then he'll see their charm.

There's no harm in continuing to do so. Kija and I plan to, as well. Is there anything we should know of?

[The latter part of her reply, however, gets a huff of both amusement and maybe a little incredulity.]

Unfortunately that would be next to impossible. Kija is obnoxiously stubborn, and sticks fast to his ways. He once could not even step foot into a hot spring, due to the presence of a single spider.

There's a mist outside, a sort of barrier that blocks us from going far from the tree. We can't climb it very high, and flying over it doesn't work either. [ she's confirmed the former but the latter is only hearsay. now she says slightly deadpan: ] Makes me think we're going to have to dig ourselves out.

[ now the face she was making earlier changes back into one of confusion. ] Hot...spring? Do you mean a hot bath? [ where would they find a spring that was hot? she certainly hasn't encountered or heard of one. that doesn't sound comfortable at all. cold water is the best. ] Just one spider? He could have just scooped it out.

[ kija your reputation is sinking lower and lower. ]

Some kind of magic, then? [He wouldn't
t be surprised. Although, her remark - dead or otherwise - amuses him.] Kija would certainly be a great help, should we attempt that option.

Yes. It's basically a bath provided by nature. They're very relaxing. [Maybe there's something like it here?

He chuckles] I'm sure he would have, if only simply being in the presence of it didn't freak him out.

I think so. I'm counting on it. All magics have weaknesses. [ and it's only a matter of time before it's discovered. a month, two months, doesn't matter.

a bath provided by nature? so it's like a river or lake, but hot. that sounds interesting. uncomfortable, but interesting. ]

He sounds very...delicate. Is he going to be all right here?

I can't claim to be an expert on the subject in general, but I would like to hope so.

[Seeing how his dragon's foot has, too, been tampered with. The only reason he hasn't complained or become overly angered is that the wings fill in as a more or less acceptable replacement.]

Delicate? [PFFFFTT. GIVE HIM A MOMENT]

[Okay. Whew.]

. . .Something like that. He'll be fine, though. Bugs aside, Kija-kun is more than able to take care of himself, and is an equally as good to have as an ally.

[ riona jumps a little and stares incredulously when jae-ha starts laughing all of a sudden, and quite fervently at that. she doesn't think she said anything particularly funny?? ninna is surprised by the sound as well and starts poking at the amber in her curiosity, but riona pushes her head away this time. ] Stop that.

[ she waits until he's calmed himself down. admittedly, the laughter has sort of set her at ease, if just a bit. ] You would know better than me. At least you have each other.

[Can't stop, won't stop! It's definitely funny, thank you very much.]

Of course. I can't deny that I don't mind having him here with me.

[Sorry, Kija.]

[ well, you're welcome! she'll try to be funny without meaning to be funny more often. in any case, she can't help but feel a bit of envy. she has ninna, sure, but that doesn't make liam's absence any easier. after a moment, she replies. ]

And you shouldn't. Hopefully he'll be around for those flying lessons.

I'm sure he will be. He's aware that he'll need to be able to do so, if he expects to get around the tree.

[Even though Jae-Ha, himself, could assist in carrying him. It wouldn't be anything new. It can make carrying other things a bit trickier, though.

But, that reminds him!]

Ah- I hope you will as well, Riona-chan. My offer of course still stands.

[ well, good. jae-ha may say otherwise but she can't even begin to imagine how kija ever gets by on his own. maybe it's just the environment, who knows.

she mumbles the foreign suffix confusedly under her breath but leaves that for later. she sits up now. ] Yes, I'll take it. No reason not to.
