[Quite frankly, the whole of this situation has Jae-Ha seething. This tree - this world - is nothing but a glorified cage. As pleasant as some of it may appear, there's no saving the fact that he's locked in, not to mention other people, as well. At the least, he seems to have caught on to that ray of sunshine, which he uses, but it's not as though it continues to erase all of the bitterness that comes with being here.

But nevertheless. —He seems more at ease, than not, when appearing.

. . . A certain White Dragon, though, just to the side of the screen, does not.]

This amber is very impressive, really. To think that conversing across distances can happen instantly was even remotely possible. . .

But ah- More importantly! My name is Jae-Ha, and I'd like to most humbly offer myself to assist anyone who would like a few lessons in flight, as I'm sure that coordination might be—

[He starts, only to be (rudely!) interrupted.] Jae-Ha! [It's clear the frantic, white haired dragon in the background is not at all happy with the situation, glaring at Jae-Ha from behind.] Your 'services' are hardly what is important right now. Get this off of me already!!

[That being Kija's gem is smack dab in the middle of his forehead, courtesy of some wonderful tree sap, therefore forcing the presence of his wings.]

Don't worry, it'll loosen up within a day. [or something]

That's too long! [He practically despairs.] I- I cannot stand to have these horrible things to be around for another second! AH-! [Nooooo] The Dragon Claw is sticky with sap now, too!

[Jae-Ha just lets out an exasperated sigh] They're a beautiful set of wings, Kija-kun. Now you can fly without any of my assistance, even. Take advantage of it. Your complaining will get you nowhere.

I REFUSE!! [Before Jae-Ha can do much of anything, then, a white scaled dragon claw reaches out and all but grabs his arm to get his full attention - and hopefully succeed in removing the stone, leading the feed to cut off short.]

[ she listens attentively. she doesn't have a clue as to what this heaven's power is. it might be a fancy way of saying it comes from a god they worship, a common concept back home. and the colors are a bit...silly? unnecessary? both? don't they have proper names? ]

Magic? [ she pauses while ninna slinks closer to the amber in curiosity. she isn't in the way (yet) so riona doesn't push her away. ] And there are four of you... You get along with them?

[ it didn't really look that way with the green-haired man, this 'green dragon.' ]

[backstory]

I don't know that I consider it magic.

[ But it was beyond the capabilities of an ordinary human. ] The four of us get along fine. We are like brothers, in the end.

[dragonblood]

... Family. [ what an icky subject. but she does see where he gets that idea. anyway, moving on. ] I'm going to take a guess and say your master is royalty? You sound like bodyguards, or knights.

[backstory]

[ She literally is- even if she is without a thrown or kingdom right now. To him, she will always be royalty though. ]

She is that and more. I am honored and grateful to be able to both protect and defend her. Which is why we must return back to her side at once.

[ riona's expression doesn't change. she's less than impressed with kija's obvious dedication to his master, though not because she thinks little of him, but of the idea to be bound to royalty like that. she doesn't say anything though. she doesn't know him, she doesn't know his master, their circumstances could be completely different.

so instead, her shoulders relax a bit as she breathes out through her nose. ] She must miss you two. Most of the people here have been here for over a month. Hopefully, it won't take us that long to find a way out.

I am sure that we will find a way out of here.

[ If nothing else, Kija is the epitome of positive. Ridiculously so at times. ]

We will find a way out, and you and everyone else will be able to return to their homes.

[ she can tell—that's pretty optimistic of him. it's not so terrible either. ] If they want to, at least. But thank you. [ after a moment of thought, she smiles briefly. ] Do you think those heavenly powers of yours could make a dint in that barrier? I've seen others try to break it without luck, but there's no harm in giving it a go.

[backstory]

Nothing would give me greater pleasure than to tear it to pieces and prove it's worth.

[ An excited thrum flows through his veins at just the idea of letting his strength loose. He might not be happy with the wings and finding himself so small, but he doesn't care what the barrier is made of. If it stands in his way, he will tear it down piece by piece. ]

[ even if punching it and whatever 'electricity' is didn't work against the wall, there's no reason to say kija won't succeed. she's a bit more inclined to have faith in him because of the origin of that claw.

she stares into the amber a moment longer, intrigued at his determination, before smiling again. ] Hopefully long enough to forget you're in a forest surrounded by giant insects. Some with wings.

[ she's teasing. a good sign! though not so much for kija. ]

[ because you are a grown man who's afraid of bugs and it's funny. see, even the baby dragon is amused. ninna's jingling about like a set of wind chimes and riona directs a smile at her. ] Bugs scare him. Silly man.

[ and back to kija: ] Maybe you'll feel better about them once they're dead and you can eat them instead. They don't taste terrible, and there should be plenty to go around now that they're so much bigger than us.

[ is she kidding, is she not kidding? it is a mystery. ]

[ Do you really eat bugs. Is this what your life has been brought to oh no. Is he going to have to eat bugs? Please no. ]

There must be better alternatives...

[ oh, he believed her... ]

Do you see any deer or hares here? You can only last so long on berries and mushrooms. You need meat. Right, Ninna? [ the dragon cries out again, seemingly in agreement. ]

Surely there must be birds. Or rodents? [ He'd eat either of those before touching a bug. ]

[dragonblood]

Squirrels? [ she's going to just not bring up the squirrel meat and fur she saw earlier inside the tree. he'll discover those for himself soon enough and rejoice. ] They might be around. Might not. You can try your luck with birds. Not as tasty as bugs, though.

[backstory]

N-No, of course not a squirrel.

[ That is one animal he will never eat now for sure. ]

I will find a better option.

If you say so. [ she's sufficiently amused, though looks just a tad devious now. ] But if you don't, some fireflies and glowworms make their home at the tree roots. Should be easy to sneak up on.

I will make sure not to disturb them at all down there. [ Thank you for telling him where not to visit. ]

[ kija's very welcome. she's not a demon. ] Very good, they shouldn't be. They're very nice. And the glowworms are big enough to sit on you if you aren't careful.

[ ok no they aren't that big, but does he need to know? nah. ]

W-What terribly frightening creatures.

[dragonblood]

I just said they're nice! You're going to be more frightening to them, with that giant claw of yours. But you'll be fine, I think. You have your friend to protect you if you're ever in danger.

[backstory]

[ That at least strikes him a bit. ] I have no need to depend on Jae-Ha for protection. [ He would be ashamed if he couldn't fight for himself. ]

Although they are unsettling, I will be fine.

Oh. [ well that's a pleasant surprise then. she nods after a moment and speaks honestly. ] Yes, I think you will. We're trapped here, but the forest itself isn't so terrible. [ but then again she's biased toward such environments, having known no others. ]

[backstory]

A forest itself is not a disagreeable place. [ He doesn't hate nature. In fact he likes it. ] I would like to find whatever is responsible for bringing us here though.

.. Yeah, it isn't. [ she's a little happy to hear that, but his next words are what's important. ] So would I. Kidnappings never end well.
