[ The man looking down into the amber appears confident, at a glance. Certainly, he's friendly, and he offers a grin. ]

So here's what I'm thinkin'.

We got threats here, don't we? Giant spiders, that sort of thing. Or average-sized spiders, but they're giant to us, that's for sure. There's probably more crap where that came from.

But now we're trying to get weapons for everybody. Ways for us all to defend ourselves.

[ He gestures at the golden image before him. ]

I got an offer for all of you. If you need help defending yourselves, I'll--I'll try and teach you.

But I might need a little help setting up a gym for it. Anyone got any ideas how we can go about that?

[ A beat. He hesitates, then says: ]

I'm Bucky, by the way. Nice to meet you all, even if it's not under the greatest of circumstances.

No, I'm not, really.

But it's worth a shot.

I suppose so... How skilled are you? [ she's only ever seen him punching magic walls, remember. ]

Skilled enough to help newbies out.

[ He's not going to give a straight answer to that one. The question of how far his skills run, and why, is a thorny one for him. ]

[dragonblood]

[ then lucky for him(?) that riona just pushes her lips out at his remark. ] No, you're nice enough to help people out. But you look like you know how to fight.

[ how does she judge that? who knows. she shrugs, and then something seems to suddenly occur to her as she perks up. ] Oh— What's a gym?

[soldieronwards]

[ He lets her first comment just lie for now; he'll answer her question instead. ]

It's a place for training your body. Keeping yourself in good shape, learning fighting techniques...the point is to have stuff like weights in a place where it's convenient, but also make sure the place is set up to be safe. Mats on the ground, people to spot you.

[dragonblood]

[ her head slowly tilts to the side as he explains. it isn't the explanation itself that confuses her, that makes enough sense, but that— ] Is it a building? Can't you train anywhere?

[ they can make a small clearing out in the forest if they wanted the space. clean up the large leaves and sticks and whatnot, and viola. ... unless that's what you call a gym. who knows. ] You really will need help if you want something like that.
