[ The man looking down into the amber appears confident, at a glance. Certainly, he's friendly, and he offers a grin. ]

So here's what I'm thinkin'.

We got threats here, don't we? Giant spiders, that sort of thing. Or average-sized spiders, but they're giant to us, that's for sure. There's probably more crap where that came from.

But now we're trying to get weapons for everybody. Ways for us all to defend ourselves.

[ He gestures at the golden image before him. ]

I got an offer for all of you. If you need help defending yourselves, I'll--I'll try and teach you.

But I might need a little help setting up a gym for it. Anyone got any ideas how we can go about that?

[ A beat. He hesitates, then says: ]

I'm Bucky, by the way. Nice to meet you all, even if it's not under the greatest of circumstances.

Oh my, is this some kind of adult acting as though he's going to be a hero to us all? It's proper to teach those who are making weapons on how to use them, but is it wise for us to learn to fight at all?

[ Did Bucky ask for an obnoxious teenager girl who looks as if she doesn't understand a single thing? No??

To begin with, I'd suggest manners. Those are always a useful lesson.

Proper manners are useful in ensuring healthy conduct among civilians. I've already witnessed and felt personally victimized by those who interrupt a conversation to give their own input on the matter.

[ Her words are sharp, but there's just a subtle hint to a tease to her voice as usual. ]

Afraid we haven't been properly introduced yet, miss-?

Well, I was gonna help teach you all how to fight, but if you don't want to learn, that's fine too. Just let everyone else defend you, girl.

[ He can be obnoxious too!! ]

Every single person that's here? There's... a lot of us, Mister Bucky.

[ She points out one obvious thing and jumps to the next. ] Which means not all of us are going to get along well. You sure it's a good idea to be passing out weapons and training?

I'm game.

We could use the space out in front of the mists, or just move the table.

[soldieronwards]

The houses are a little small for that sort of thing, I think. If we could set up some mats outside the tree...that'd be good.

And some kinda bowl for the gems? I dunno about you, but I wouldn't want wings gettin' in the way.

[ Or getting torn off, for that matter. ]

[ that's all she has to say about that. if it was one or two people, fine, but he wants to teach everyone who doesn't already know how to fight? why bucky? this little girl is frowning at you. ]

[ He laughs a little. ]

I gotta do something--it ain't like I've got a lot of other things to keep me busy here.

Well— ... That's true. But are you really sure about this?

[ Unlike Rin, she approves of this idea. Korra and she have been speaking about the need of an instructor if a defense force is formed. ]

Good evening, Bucky. My name is Saber. Well met.

[ She bows her head. Surprisingly formal and old fashioned for what looks to be a teenager. ] A group of us [ Three as far as she is aware because she has kept this from Shirou ] is looking to create a more organized defense force to guard the population. One of the ideas proposed was to have a mentor or instructor to train those who wish to be whether or not are members of this group. Would you be interested in assisting us?

[ She pauses, frowning slightly. Location is a trouble. ]

I understand space is sparse and this makes it problematic. As long the weather remains mild, it could be done outdoors.

[ He blinks at her formality, suddenly a bit awkward. ]

Uh, I don't know if I can promise it as a full-time position. But I can do a bit to help, at least.

I was thinkin' outdoors is the best place to try.

Do not worry about that, there is nothing organized yet to make this official. I suggest you to speak personally with a girl called Korra. She called to my attention the need of a mentor in this field the other day.

[ Arturia's teaching methods are questionable. ]

[ He blinks down at the amber. ]

Well, I can try. I guess it'd be a challenge, tryin' to figure out how to train a half-moth, half-pigeon with arms.

I'm one hundred percent gentleman dove, I'll have you know. I just keep my gem on most of the time so I'm not ground-bound.

That's a very thoughtful offer, sir. We're sure to have more insects and worse coming to visit, if the past month is any indication.

We could use some of the moss around to use as mats for safety. Learning how to fight while flying might be good, too.

Moss for mats sounds like a good idea. You're right about the flying, but I might have to practice that myself.

I spoke to a man who was offering to help people learn flying--his name is Jae-Ha, I believe. He is also a recent arrival, but he knows how to fly already. Perhaps he knows something of aerial combat, too.

[Granted, he was offering it to ~ladies~, but he didn't seem averse when Fuu pointed out that gentlemen might need help too.]

I suppose I also have some experience in flight itself by now, but I spent most of the spider battle on foot, so it would be a lot of trial and error.

Seems like most people here already know how to fight, at least a little. I wanna take care of the ones who don't so much.
