The ants come marching...

After several days of moving their community from the tree to their new hive, it was finally time for the Queen and her entourage to leave. This was a rather precarious thing, however, and the soldier ants were on high alert as their precious leader started her descent. Chittering to each other, they created a wall of their bodies to protect her, hissing angrily at any of the new tree dwellers that dared to come within sight.
The Queen herself moved very slow due to her massive, swollen abdomen filled with eggs, and she was tended to by a large group of workers that carried her larvae and unhatched eggs with great care. Compared to the adventurers (if they were their normal size), she was easily the size of an elephant and carried a very intelligent and sly gleam in her dark-set eyes. She managed to look quite royal and stern for an insect, no matter how odd-looking... but she didn't seem to be in any particular hurry.
