[A few conversations he's had lately have inspired this amber 'post' from Yoshitsugu. He's currently laying down on his bed in the room he shares with a myriad of interesting souls, face-up and holding the amber piece above his head so it can show his face (well, what little of it that is visible).]

The wish to return to your homes is normal, but it is frankly stupid to reject the opportunities for growth you can find here. Accepting them might not hinder you efforts, it might indeed help them, and the personal experiences may prove fruitful and useful for your future... whatever that future might hold.

[As is typical for him, however, he can't help but add something of a dark tease at the end; nothing about his tone suggests it is anything but serious. It probably doesn't take much thought to work out Yoshitsugu's attempt at humour unless you're exceptionally naive, though.]

Of course, it may be unwise to listen to the words of a ghost. Who knows how he might lead you astray?

[Takatora walks into their partitioned room, licking the last traces of berry juice from his fingers. He glances sideways at Yoshitsugu as he heads to his own bed, which he then gracelessly flops onto. He stretches out before rolling onto his side so that he can face his friend.]

Are you having fun terrorising the tree's populace?

[Since Yoshitsugu is using his amber slice, and radiating amusement...]

[That immediately makes Yoshitsugu laugh. Really, what is it with these hopeless fools? His entire life has been filled with them.]

You sound like an old friend.

[Though Yoshitsugu could be called the worst fool of all.]

It's always the same, no matter where I go.

[It's not like following the 'rules' or doing the 'right thing' has done him any good.

Not talking to people is a good way to cut fools out of your life?]

Is that so?

[An accurate assessment of the situation; Yoshitsugu huffs a brief laugh before putting the amber slice to one side and tapping the fingers of one hand against his lap.]

Some things don't change, Takatora. No matter where you go.

[Yoshitsugu himself certainly doesn't, and there's always crowds of people who go against the flow despite how much harm this can cause them. Yet... he also knows that those kind of people are often the ones he is drawn to.]

[Hopeless. He turns his head to the side a little so he can glance Takatora's way.]

And a ghost will always be just that.

Oh, yes.

[For Yoshitsugu, what makes him hopeless is how much he is endeared to those hopeless fools. Every time he has resisted the flow it's been for one of them... and every time there has been profound loss.]

[Not that he regrets his choices, and it reflects in his calmness right now. Only one regret lays locked up tight in his heart and it's not related to his past actions.]

Always those empassioned to resist the flow, or even change it, no matter how much it inevitably costs them.

[handtowels]

You're no ghost. You have feet.

[He criticises with faux seriousness. But really, Yoshitsugu isn't one -- as far as Takatora is concerned, his friend was ressurected. Yoshitsugu currently has a beating heart and draws breath, and he's thankful for both.]

[There's an ocean of thoughts and feelings between those words, isn't there? Maybe it's fortunate that one of Yoshitsugu's feelings is the desire for mischief (as per usual).]

Are you sure? Maybe we should check.

[Yoshitsugu shifts so he can lie on his back, then bends his right leg in such a way that can he slowly remove the sock he is wearing. Beneath... a somewhat small and most definitely pale foot that quite obviously don't see the light of day very often.]

[Poking a toe, Yoshitsugu feigns surprise and says:]

How long have those been there?

[handtowels]

[Takatora groans in disgust and sacrifices his pillow to throw it directly at Yoshitsugu's face -- and yet he still ends up laughing.

He may not reach Yoshitsugu's levels, but he's plenty odd himself.]

[Yoshitsugu doesn't even bother to try and catch the pillow, letting it hit him before falling to the floor. His smile is not directly visible but reaches his eyes nonetheless.]

I must be a very unusual ghost. [Pulling his sock back on first, Yoshitsugu then drops his legs back onto the mattress.] But the presence of feet does not hinder my ability to curse the living, I can assure you.

That I do believe.

[Takatora says with a grin.]

How many have you laid by now?

[hakanai]

[Oh, Takatora; you really should have thought a little more about how to phrase that question. Yoshitsugu's expression doesn't change much, but Takatora might well notice something outright wicked spark in his friend's eyes.]

Laid?

[Someone like Yoshitsugu is not going to pass up the opportunity to twist that word, especially when you consider who it is saying it. He tilts his head back and closes his eyes, twisting a lock of hair between his fingers.]

You're interested in how many I've laid? I'm surprised you are so unaware of the answer to that, what with our beds being so close.

There are legends about such spirits, but you don't very much resemble them. [ears on wheels and things.] And I think we would have discovered your crimes by this point if you were.

[handtowels]

W-Wha--

[Takatora makes a strangled noise in his throat and flushes red. He rolls off of his bed, makes his way over to Yoshitsugu's, grabs his pillow from the floor and pounces on his friend, smushing the pillow into Yoshitsugu's face.

He releases his hold on the pillow quickly, of course, not truly wanting to smother Yoshitsugu, but it gets the point across.]

Like anyone else could stand your teasing long enough to!

Oh? But I am a master of deception and concealment, you know. [He taps his facecloth as if to prove a point.] Some even called me the ghost strategist...

[Katou Kiyomasa and Fukushima Masanori amongst them; the former had been rather nervous when the latter had informed Yoshitsugu of the nickname by accident. They weren't to know that Yoshitsugu would actually rather like to hear such a thing.]

If I wanted to hide my crimes I could do so very well.

[Is it any wonder he once got falsely accused of being a serial killer, really?]

Sometimes it needs changed.

[Removing that pillow would reveal Yoshitsugu's just-bared face, the smothering having shifted his facecloth. Usually this is something he would fix immediately, but in this private space and between the two of them it's no longer an issue. Takatora earnt the right without asking for it, honestly.]

[It reveals a smirk that may or may not be very welcome.]

You think only you could handle my teasing for long enough?

[The smirk doesn't fade one bit. Sorry, Takatora; you're getting hit full force with Yoshitsugu's worst right now.]

I have had invitation and opportunity to test that before, you know.

A ghost...? [Korra peers at him from the amber slice. The usual golden sheen is obvious, but there doesn't seem to be anything different about him from anyone else.]

You don't look like one.

... Wait. A ghost?

No doubt about that.

[He closes his eyes, somewhat thoughtful.]

But such efforts frequently do not work; I know this personally.

Be that as it may, I'm not going to give up.

[He's already accepted a horrible death is in store for him.]

Technically, yes.

[He can't quite bring himself to fully tease Noire.]

My life in my home was fully spent.

[She... still can't decide if he's teasing, an actual spirit, or being metaphorical. But she comes to a decision.]

... Mmm, well... Whatever you are... You have wise words, and a kind heart.

Sort of.

Which is what really matters.

There are those back home who would disagree very strongly with you.

[Yoshitsugu laughs quietly.]

And that was before I had true right to the title.
