| characters |Amonir and any
| date/time |June 9th
| location | bottom floor
| rating |pg
| summary | Amonir tries to figure out this strange place, which may include howling.
Amonir arrives in his wolf form, confused as to his suddenly different locale. He carries on his back a harnessed backpack. Instinctively, he lets out a low growl as he raises his tail a bit and looks around the room. Unable to sense an immediate threat he tries howling to see if any of his pack is close enough to come to his aid.
He notices the bag waiting for him to pick it up, and hoping it might have some answers to the mystery that is this place, he shifts into elf form in a single graceful step to more easily examine the contents of the bag.
Determining the bag to be of no immediate use he stores it in his own backpack and moves onto the stones that seemed to be calling to him. He approaches warily, sniffing at the air about it. He determines that it isn't too dangerous and places a hand on the stone.
He sees the growth of wings out of the corners of his eyes and looks behind him to discover the silvery dragonfly wings that have grown from his back. He spins, trying to get a better look at them in one direction and then another. He looks down at the stone in his hand in awe and smiles. Apparently this place wasn't so terrible. He was filled with fear, but some of that melts away now that he has found something that feels to be brimming with good magic.

Ceiling cat is watchin' you~
It's a mark of how unusual her life has been that the sight of the wolf shape-shifting like that doesn't elicit anything more than keen interest and curiosity. She sits down on the edge of the hole, her bowl beside her, allowing her legs to dangle over the edge as she observes him. She waits until he gets his wings, though, before greeting him, not wanting to disturb the moment.
"Hi," she calls down. "Welcome to the Tree."
Hello!
He picks up the gem again and is distracted for a moment as he realizes he has wings. They are semi-transparent silver dragonfly wings that can fold down his back.
He looks back up at the unfamiliar humanoid and calls up, "Where is this place?"
Re: Hello!
"It's the Tree, like I said," Kit says. "Beyond that, we don't know. We were all brought here the same way you were."
Kit picks up her bowl again and flutters down to join him. Her own wings are somewhat more elaborate and stick out behind her when at rest, the three lower sections partially folding together and the 'feelers' pointing in Amonir's direction, since that's where Kit's attention is focused. "My name's Wily-Kit, by the way," she says, shifting her grip on the bowl so she can offer a handshake, "but you can just call me Kit. What's your name?"

"Anyway, if you want to get out of this room and to the next floor, you're gonna have to test out your wings," she says. "The spider-web over there won't let you through when you first arrive." She indicated the doorway leading to the outside, currently blocked by the magical webbing.

Looking to Kit he asks, "What is up there?"
no subject
"The rest of the Tree," Kit says. "The first floor above this is houses, and the food branch is there too. Above that is the bath, then another floor of houses, then Chime's shop, and one more floor of houses. There's more, but we can't get to anything above that yet, though."

"I'd like to meet her. I wonder if she would sing with me."
no subject
"You can ask her if you want," Kit says. "All you gotta do is go up to the fifth floor and call for her and she'll probably show up. Unless she's busy doing something else, I guess." Kit has no idea what tree spirits normally do all day, but she bets there are times when Chime is busy with her own things.

He looks up to the higher floors, "This place has five floors now. I should get myself acquainted with them."
no subject
"And actually there's six floors," Kit corrects him. "Seven, if you count this one. And there's probly more above, but we can't get to them yet."
no subject
He flies up a bit higher, "Would you be so kind as to give me a tour?"
And we can probly wrap with your next tag, yes? :3

She waits off to the side until he's had a chance to look around and choose one of the gemstones before she speaks up. "I heard the howling and came over," Korra says. "Can you change back into a wolf when you feel like it?"
no subject
Amonir keeps his distance for the moment as he answers her question and throws one back at her, "I can. Did you summon me here?

Upon entering and spotting the unfamiliar elf, she pauses long enough to see him receive his gem. A small smile forms as she steps forward, noting the dragonfly wings. A Day Gem person, though the significance of that beyond the wings has yet to be revealed.
"A fine pair, if I must say so. I thought I heard howling--was that you?"
She didn't actually see him change, but as there's no wolf running around, Ivaera can't help but ask. At least she's used to shapeshifting magic, and far stranger things, so this doesn't bother her in the least.

"Yes, I was calling for my pack," he answers as if trying to hint that they would be here any moment. He could tell they were too far separated from him to hear his call, or they would have returned it.
no subject
"I wish I had better news for you, but it seems you have arrived her alone, as did I. There is no indication when -or if- others familiar to us will arrive, though it seems possible. I am Ivaera, and I have arrived scarcely a few weeks ago."
no subject
"I suppose that is was the same for you then? Has anyone an idea about who does the summoning? Is there a way out?" He had too many questions to ask, so he started with the basics while trying to ignore that empty feeling of lost pack mates. It made him want to howl again.

Ivaera heads on over to the Life Stream, though not into it, looking up. "I was told that a denizen of the Tree called Chime said that there's something wrong with it. She indicated that we were to keep ascending the Tree for answers, though currently crystals block passage past the sixth floor. Riddles and solving them are involved in all this."

Though even if the riddle is solved, all is not necessarily at peace. A previous riddle was solved before my arrival, only for a horde of spiders and their queen to be unleashed. I almost wish I had arrived earlier, to aid in that battle."
no subject
"Where are these riddles found? Can you guess more than once?"
no subject
no subject
"That does make the riddles more challenging. Is it possible to not answer, or does something happen if you do not give an answer?
no subject
"That...is a good question to which I have no answer. As far as I'm aware, there has always been an attempt to answer the riddles. Perhaps nothing? Good or bad. Though at this point, it's only speculation."

Glancing upward, Ivaera remembers why she returned to the inside of the Tree. "I ought to check on my mabari, he's probably restless by now. If you wish, you can follow me and I can at least point the way toward the food altar?"
