[After taking a look at the items in the shop herself, there's one set in particular that catches her interest, and Korra's sure it could be helpful to many of the people living in the tree. If she hesitates before turning the amber on, it's only because she's already mentioned a few times that one element per bender is the norm in her world, and her offer is going to look suspicious when she's already used water bending very visibly. But when it comes to her own comfort over the needs of the people around her, Korra knows which one she would choose.

She kind of sucked at the incognito thing anyway, if she's honest.]

Hey, I know Saber's already mentioned the tree spirit's store, but there's something in there I wanted to talk about: the needles. I think most of us already figured out how hard finding stuff like metal is around here. [Korra fidgets, looking away from the amber for a moment.] A-anyway, the point is, if we pool our resources together and buy the needles, I can make some knives and daggers out of them.

After the surprise we had with the spiders, I think we should make sure as many of us have something to defend ourselves with as possible.

[He's heard a lot about the spiders to have a general idea about what happened. But not everything.]

Just handing them out to whoever wants them sounds a little reckless. I get that something is better than nothing, but you don't really want to put them in the hands of someone uneducated.

Yeah... it's not the best way to do things. [Korra can admit that easily.]

Saber and I were talking about this earlier. I think we could give the weapons to people who already know how to use them. If someone wants to learn, we could find someone to teach them.

The need might be greatest with those not used to handling weapons. I would think if someone was familiar enough to use them--they would have likely had them on them and arrived with them.

[Hak came in with three.

He hesitates before continuing.]

...I may have experience in that sort of thing.

[Though she just looks pensive, taking in his advice at first, she perks up immediately as soon as he gets to the last part.]

You do? [Korra hesitates. It seems a little sudden to spring on someone, but he did mention it first.] Would you be willing to teach?

[thunderbeast]

It was a long time ago. [He's 18. It can't be that long ago. Try months.] But yeah. Entire military troops.

I don't come cheap. [Yes, he does.]

[braavado]

[So, a lot of experience, then. It's enough for Korra to keep asking, despite his warning.]

What would you want in return for the lessons?

[It doesn't hurt to ask, right?]

[It's a huge price.]

At least three naps a day and food.

[He's just lazy. He's also not serious. He'd do it for free as long as he has time.]
