[After taking a look at the items in the shop herself, there's one set in particular that catches her interest, and Korra's sure it could be helpful to many of the people living in the tree. If she hesitates before turning the amber on, it's only because she's already mentioned a few times that one element per bender is the norm in her world, and her offer is going to look suspicious when she's already used water bending very visibly. But when it comes to her own comfort over the needs of the people around her, Korra knows which one she would choose.

She kind of sucked at the incognito thing anyway, if she's honest.]

Hey, I know Saber's already mentioned the tree spirit's store, but there's something in there I wanted to talk about: the needles. I think most of us already figured out how hard finding stuff like metal is around here. [Korra fidgets, looking away from the amber for a moment.] A-anyway, the point is, if we pool our resources together and buy the needles, I can make some knives and daggers out of them.

After the surprise we had with the spiders, I think we should make sure as many of us have something to defend ourselves with as possible.

[Korra responds easily. After Bucky had helped her through the spider attack, she's warmed up to him considerably. Her brows raise when she sees the soup in his hands.]

Is this going to be a habit now? You bringing something over whenever you stop by?

[ He flashes her a bright, disarming smile, and comes over to where she is without hesitation. Yeah, he's the Invade Your Life kind of friend, and she's not getting rid of him anytime soon. ]

And here I thought you liked my cooking!

Something like that. It's called "metal bending" in my world. I can shape the metal without using fire.

[She hesitates.] I just thought, since we can't use fire here, it might be easier.

... From needles?

[ forget the danger of arming everyone with weapons for a moment, because this is optimism if she's ever seen it. ]

Yeah, I know it doesn't sound like much, but... the needles are the size they should be normally. Not... shrunken down to fit us.

That means, since we're a lot smaller now, there's a lot more metal to go around.

Korra. Can you forge without fire?

[Saber asks, interested. Not for herself because she has Excalibur, but it could be useful gift to Rin if some of them are immune to magecraft. She pushes that selfish thought aside and sees there could be a greater purpose.]

Perhaps if an effort is made and the purchasers agree, those weapons could be stored for use in the future.

[She tips her head.]

Terpsichora suggested a militia. However until that force is officially formed, each disarmed home
could have a weapon and someone capable of wielding it. [But to know this, they need some kind of census and meeting.]

Yeah, something like that. It's a kind of ability we have back home. Metal bending. I've never done anything like this before, so I'd probably need to practice first, but I'm pretty sure I can do it.

[Korra frowns in thought now.]

A militia or any kind of fighting force. Maybe we could give lessons to people who don't know how to fight, too.

[Orcelito glances at the amber with immediate interest. Having access to armaments has been of great concern to him.]

Korra, was it? [He’s pretty sure that’s her name.] If you can fashion weapons out of the needles, I will gladly offer my currency in exchange for one.

Yeah, you got it. [She remembers him from the day before.] And thanks. That means we'll need two more stones to get the needles.

So you're a scholar and a fighter?

[ Spiders... if it is not spiders it is something else. Haggard, Kija appears on the Amber, too. ]

How does one purchase things here? [ He doesn't mind helping, despite having a built in weapon of his own (not that he wants to face spiders) but he gets people needing to be able to defend themselves. ]

It's the stones...the round ones that were in your leaf backpack.

[She purses her lips, looking thoughtful.]

As far as I know, we each get one when we get here, but most of the items in the shop need several stones to purchase. That means we need to team up and get the items together.

[Hell, yes. It doesn't matter how anymore. Arno's darts were getting so low.]

Could you think you could make small darts?

I... think I could.

I'll have to look at the ones you have and try to make them the same.

I'll hand over my stone. Not like it's good for much else.

[braavado]

[She gives him a smile, relieved that the others seem receptive so far.]

Thanks. It's a huge help. [And then under her breath:] Two down, two to go...

[He's heard a lot about the spiders to have a general idea about what happened. But not everything.]

Just handing them out to whoever wants them sounds a little reckless. I get that something is better than nothing, but you don't really want to put them in the hands of someone uneducated.

Yeah... it's not the best way to do things. [Korra can admit that easily.]

Saber and I were talking about this earlier. I think we could give the weapons to people who already know how to use them. If someone wants to learn, we could find someone to teach them.

[Although he's aware that there are as many different abilities represented skills, here, as there are people, it's more so that he doesn't question the skill, since he's seen it before at home.]

That wouldn't be a bad idea at all. Arrowheads may be useful, as well.

[He'd agree with Hak, too.]

[Korra nods slowly, clearly thinking it over.]

It's a good idea. We'd just need someone to make the rest of the arrows and the bows. I can take care of the metal parts, but I've never even tried wood working before.

A good idea. If you've got any leftover metals, too little to make weaponry, perhaps shaping smaller needles would be useful. Clothes will wear and tear, so having supplies ready to mend them would assist in giving us a jumpstart.

Especially with things like the spiders attacking us.

[It's kind of shocking how many sets of clothing you can go through when you fight regularly. But they don't have that kind of luxury here.]

I'll see what I can do. Now that we might have metal to work with, I'm sure I can use some of it to make needles for everyone to use.

[They don't really use up a lot of the metal when they're shrunken down to their new size anyway.]

I know you probly have enough stones by now, but umm... Well, could I have one of those knives when you're done?

I could put the spiders in a trance, but if something comes along that I can't... Well, I don't wanna have to try and fight it with my bare claws.

[She remembers Kit looking for something to use as a weapon before, and doesn't hesitate when she answers.]

Of course you can. [Korra pauses.] I didn't know you could do that with the spiders, though. How does that work?
