[After taking a look at the items in the shop herself, there's one set in particular that catches her interest, and Korra's sure it could be helpful to many of the people living in the tree. If she hesitates before turning the amber on, it's only because she's already mentioned a few times that one element per bender is the norm in her world, and her offer is going to look suspicious when she's already used water bending very visibly. But when it comes to her own comfort over the needs of the people around her, Korra knows which one she would choose.

She kind of sucked at the incognito thing anyway, if she's honest.]

Hey, I know Saber's already mentioned the tree spirit's store, but there's something in there I wanted to talk about: the needles. I think most of us already figured out how hard finding stuff like metal is around here. [Korra fidgets, looking away from the amber for a moment.] A-anyway, the point is, if we pool our resources together and buy the needles, I can make some knives and daggers out of them.

After the surprise we had with the spiders, I think we should make sure as many of us have something to defend ourselves with as possible.

[Kit pulls out the ring-shaped musical instrument and holds it up so Korra can see it.]

When I play, I can put people or animals into a trance. It only lasts as long as I'm playing, though; once I stop, they wake up and don't remember anything even happened.

[Assuming something doesn't kill them, that is, as was the case with the spiders.]

I can put animals to sleep that way too, but I don't know if that works on people or not; I've never tried it. Either way, it still only lasts as long as I'm playing.

[It's a useful tool to have around, even with the limitations. Korra hums softly as she thinks.]

If you can put any attackers to sleep, it would give the people who don't know how to fight a chance to escape. What's the range like? Maybe we could try it on the animals that come by the tree.

[Kit nods. She likes that a lot better than entrancing them to make them easy pickings to kill. As for range though.]

Well, I've never tried it on someone I can't see, for one thing. And with the spiders I was staying up in the air the whole time, plus the distance they were away from me...

[Pauses as she does a bit of mental figuring.]

Probably about the same size as one of the houses? Both up and down and along the ground. But that's with more than one mark so maybe a bit more if there's just one?

I mean, I've never really done any tests to check or anything, but that's my best guess.
