[Some time around noon, Korra's nervous, orange-toned face appears in the amber slices.]

So, everyone's heard about the riddle by now, right? We've had some time to think about it now, and I just thought it might be easier if we all meet up in one place to toss around some possible answers.

[It's been a while since she's addressed a crowd like this. And even if she can't technically see them, she knows they can see her. Korra wets her lips nervously, then seems to fight back her uncertainty with determination.]

Most of us are strangers to each other, but we should try to work together, look out for each other, at least until we figure out how to get back home. It'll...make our stay here more bearable.

Oh, and if anyone got injuries from those ant soldiers or anything else, I can have a look at them.

[Korra sticks close to the large water basin at first, just in case anyone needs a healing, but eventually she makes her way over to the mushroom tables to join the discussion.]

So...I guess we should start with the first part. "A diamond from the clouds". Any ideas?

[ Wyrden's totally alien to these things, but she could at least hazard a guess. ]

No idea what a diamond is, but clouds probably mean something from the sky. We might need to fly there...?

It's a type of gemstone... I think it's kind of clear?

[Korra doesn't even care about jewellery or anything, so any details on that are pretty hazy. She frowns.]

Only problem is, if we need to fly high up, the mist isn't going to let us go very far.

[ Ah, gemstone. That's something out of her league, Sinners were always too poor to even see one. ]

If we shot something up there, we could be able to get one down. [ Or something. ]

You mean some kind of net?

[It'd be a good suggestion, except the mist keeps blocking their vision, too. Korra just keeps frowning thoughtfully.]

It's a riddle... maybe what we're looking for isn't actually a diamond, just something that looks like one.

I suppose. [ She had her mind mostly on her machine gun, since she is a good shooter even in low visibility - but she supposes it'd not work well either. ]

I haven't seen a diamond before, though, so I'm afraid I'm not much help on that department.

It's sparkly, kind of like--

[Korra pauses suddenly, sitting up as she realizes what she was about to say.]

Kind of like ice. We had hail a few days ago, didn't we?

[ he perks up when korra arrives, but soon tilts his head when they begin. ] What's a diamond? They're in the sky?

[Korra smiles at him, dropping into the chair beside him.]

It's a kind of gem. You know, the stones people like to put in jewellery? I think it's the clear-looking one.

[but they definitely don't come from clouds. Riddles, man. Their captors couldn't have just given them more straightforward instructions?]

[ he knows what jewelry is, so an image quickly pops into his head and he smiles. ] Oh...it's really bright and shiny, right? You can even see them when you're really far away. [ well, maybe in a certain light or setting. ]

[braavado]

Something like that. [Korra taps at her chin.]

Bright and shiny...maybe we're not looking for something that's actually a gemstone. Riddles are supposed to be describing things, but not literally.

So what's something that's bright and shiny, and comes from clouds?

[nullity]

[ he watches her as she explains and then tilts his head sideways as he thinks on this as best he can. something bright and shiny, but isn't a diamond or a piece of jewelry? hmm...

he looks up, toward the sky that they can't quite see from here but he knows it's there. ] Stars are bright and shiny! You can only see them at night though.

That could be it. [Korra mentally makes a note of that option. She has heard the stars described as gems before, so it's not really a stretch.]

We're going to run into a lot of problems if that's the answer, though. This mist isn't letting anyone go very far.

[Arno was here to give it his best gosh darn shot and take this completely seriously. He sat around a mushroom table and seemed to be muddled in thoughts.]

"A diamond" could mean something that just shines that's from the sky. So, we have...stars, raindrops...

Snow. Or ice.

[Kaoru was just kind of hanging out on the far side of the table, elbows propped up on his knees and being his antisocial self. He was... trying to be helpful? Maybe.]

[Hmmm, yeah...]

The weather has been wretched enough for both of those.

It'll be colder for the people on the third floor, once winter sets in. We should find some better insulation.

[Was he even talking about the riddle any more, nope, it was time to discuss survival stuff apparently.]

I don't know if snow or ice will keep from melting long enough.

[Oh, there we go. Back on track.]

[What? Where was this gent's head at? Arno looked on over and just shrugged.]

Hopefully, we'll have left before winter even arrives.

We shouldn't count on that. It might be a while.

[Might as well get comfortable in the meantime, in other words.]

[Gold had come in more to observe and offer occasional opinion and at this there's a small nod from him.]

Indeed. You also could count a snow flake, though I'm inclined to think of a rain drop myself. Rain drops are like diamonds from the clouds. The answer to riddles often aren't literal, so I doubt we're actually looking for an actual gemstone.

[Oh hello, sir. A nod was given in return for Mr. Gold.]

Oui, a riddle is only so cryptic as to make you not think of an obvious answer.

So then the real question then is, is the "diamond" we're looking for snow or rain?

It sounds like we should probably start out trying the small stuff first. Space is pretty far out there- even for people who are big enough to work a spaceship. I'm not sure how we'd be able to get a star without a lot of planning. [ Understatement of the millennium. Stars were Steven's first bet when it came to that line, but if something easier ends up working, it would be better not to waste all that time and work building a rocket or something. Last time he was in a homemade spaceship, it didn't end well. ] Oh! Unless you wanna try using the star on my shirt. Because I'd give it to a good cause.

[ And that is... absolutely a legitimate offer. He got a free fairy shirt when he got here, so it's not like he'd be missing out. Someone's apparently in magical tree jail. Helping out is imperative. ]

[What. Oh. Oh Steven. Arno put up a hand.]

Keep your clothes on, Steven. I highly doubt this has anything to do with what we wear on our own backs.

[At least he really hoped so. So either Steven was a naive boy or...hopefully not correct about this.]

Sure. I'll keep this baby on reserve in case we need a plan B. [ He fires off a thumbs up. Never know what a giant magic mirror with a riddle on it will want. ] So some ice or snow, then. Like you guys were saying. I'm not sure what qualifies as a mad eater, though.

[Good. GOOD. Arno took a look at the thumbs up and...tried to do one himself. Just to offer that form of understanding. Honestly, Arno didn't think too far with it, he just did. It just seemed like a friendly gesture.]

Hopefully, none of us. I can't speak for everyone else's appetite.
