After putting the sword where it now belongs inside the life Stream, it's time for a little award, isn't it?



Appearing outside the tree after the sword has been inserted is normal-sized slice of chocolate cake, enough to feed everyone in tree and more!

Weeeellll... We probably could, but then I'd have to be in charge of everyone's rations. It sounds like a lot of work for no gain. Besides, haven't the other adventurers been keeping the food just fine?

It's been really hard, since the thing we have right now doesn't seem to work permanently... and it won't work well if the person in charge of it leaves on a quest again.

I can't take my ice cellar out of the Gate, so you'd all be stuck if I were to leave anyway. [ Hmm. ]

I don't mind doing it for you, onee-san, but I don't really want to have the whole tree relying on me. It's not very interesting if I solve everyone's problems for them, right?

I guess that's true... It's not a win-win situation that way, isn't it...

[ What a dilemma. ]

If I could use all my stuff, I'd have Noble Phantasms that could generate ice easily, but that's out of the question here.

[ Although... ]

I had everything back while we were out on my quest, though, then almost everything disappeared once we sailed back through the mist. I haven't checked if it was the same with everyone else, but it seems like the tree itself is limiting our powers.

[ It was quite curious, and Gil might actually try to find out the specifics here. He wanted his treasury back, after all. ]

... It does? But why?

I can't be sure yet, but it seems like the tree is protecting itself by making sure we can't use anything that could reasonably damage it, and preventing us from using anything that would allow people to live independently of the tree's bounties. That would explain why I can't use most of my Noble Phantasms or any of my food and wine, but somehow still have all my gold and jewellery.

[ He ponders briefly. ]

How about you, onee-san? Are there any powers you're missing?

That sounds rough.

[ Like, seriously. ]

... Um, well, Ruby can't seem to access the Mirror World, and I can't use the Class Cards as often as I used to, but that's it. [ Then again, Class Cards have cooldown times to begin with, sooo. ]

Not being able to just into different worlds just makes sense if whoever brought us here doesn't want us to leave, but for your Class Cards...

[ Gil doesn't think much of them. He's seen Illya use a few, and while Saber was pretty strong, he was still fairly sure he could take on all of them at once if he was at full power. ]

Saber's holy sword might be dangerous for the tree. That puts a slight hole in my theory. It also seems like you didn't get affected nearly as much as I did, hmm.

[ Was it just because Gil's power was way more unfair? Probably. ]
