 Ah... pardon me.

Last week people got food poisoning... and now some sort of sickness has -

[COUGH COUGH HACK HACK. Gosh, ain't that pretty.]

... well, you know.

Anyway... I was wondering, if this keeps up... Do we have any healers, or at least magic-wielders with healing spells? ... Or just plain old doctors? In the future, if we ever come down with something more serious -

[COUGH COUGH. Ewwww.]

... More serious, or we suffer bad injuries, we should be aware of who to contact right away.

Oops

It's still early in the morning as the increasing winds roar outside the little fairy homes, rustling the small balconies and gusting slightly through the crack in the fourth floor wall. It's nothing but a bit of bad weather, something the week has been full of.

...that is, until a deafening crack is heard outside the tree, only to thunder into the tree itself with such force that it shakes the whole trunk.

The air is quickly filled with ash and soot, blackening everything outside.

[Someone has enough energy to address the amber today! Yoshitsugu has recovered from his illness for the most part, just needing a little more rest to get his energy levels back up; right now he is in fact still in bed, lacking his usual hat but with facecloth still firmly in place. He wants to offer some advice to the tree, though considering it's him giving it? It's not necessarily offered in a straightforward way.]

The magic of this world is interesting, isn't it? And dangerous. Something to remember if you wish to take part in any future quests which lead you outside of the mist; you never know when the flow will deliver you to a malevolent being who might decide to reach deep into your heart and soul, tear at old wounds and drag your weaknesses to the surface so it might attack them in a cruel yet extremely precise way, leaving you awash in nightmares and haunted by the most painful and unsettling of memories.

[It's certainly said calmly; Yoshitsugu's expression doesn't betray much either, remaining serene except, for those really, really looking closing, when he says 'painful.' The flinch is slight, but real.]

Or you might simply have a quiet and pleasant journey.

[Moving on to better things and a more pleasant memory, Yoshitsugu relaxed against the back of his bed a little more; his smile isn't visible, of course, but the pleasure he feels when recalling this memory shows in his eyes.]

The most interesting magic was that which brought chocolate cake to us. Those of you who come from a time and place where you can eat it whenever you like are very fortunate.

[Owain's face appears in the amber, with the mist barrier not far off in the background, but he is uncharacteristically quiet at first. He looks at the amber, then up and around at his surroundings, then back, seeming somewhat uncertain.]

...So is this working now?

Welcome Back, Adventurers!
The wagons rolled in, the ship anchored, and the wayward journey has ended back at the tree.

After putting the sword where it now belongs inside the life Stream, it's time for a little award, isn't it?

Appearing outside the tree after the sword has been inserted is normal-sized slice of chocolate cake, enough to feed everyone in tree and more!

Come relax, talk about your adventures and catch up. Enjoy your victory!

... I was wondering... This might be a silly question, but as some of us are still learning how to adapt to this size...

... Do you think it's possible to bake things here? Like desserts? Back home, it was one of the few things I was good at, and... I enjoyed it.

But, well, it'd be a little more difficult here. After all, we can't simply go out and buy flour, and eggs are almost as big as we are. So I guess what I'm asking for is for suggestions... or if I should give this idea up.

HARK, fellow denizens of the tree!

[The amber shows a quick view of the quest mirror; it's not close enough to make out the words on it, but there are definitely words there. The image then whips around to Owain's grinning face.]

Behold, the Mirror Shard of Secret Mystery awakens! The hour of our redemption is at hand, and upon my mighty blade, I swear we shall not be thwarted a second time! See, luckily for everyone, I've totally got that last line covered.

[He holds up a rough piece of tree-made paper. The words WEAPON NAMES adorn the top, and scrawled below them, taking up every available bit of space, is a barely-legible list of names. Some have exclamation points. Some have several exclamation points. One has crude flames drawn around it, and another appears to have lightning bolts shooting out of it.]

"Those that serve have earned the right of a name." So sayeth the Mirror! ...Okay, so I dunno who "those that serve" are, but if we just name everything we're bound to get them named too, right? [He pulls his list back and looks it over.] Now, most of these names are for weapons, true, but a lot of them'll work for other things. Flamenugget would be good for a firefly... ooh, and Storm Tempest would be great for one of the baby birds. And there are plenty more where these came from! [He taps his head.]

So GO FORTH, heroes of fairy-dom, and name all you lay eyes upon! And if you need ideas, I'm your man! [With that, he looks as though he's going to set the amber down... then abruptly catches himself as he remembers something else.] --Oh, and if anyone wants to contribute to the Master List of Epic Names... [He flips his list around. The other side is also full, except for a bit of space along one edge.] ...I could probably fit two or three more on here.

[He salutes with the hand that is still holding the paper.] Owain, AWAY!

[Fuu is looking quite serious today. Undoubtedly, the blue lifestream is affecting her.]

Hello, everyone--Miss Noire and I have set up some archery targets at the roots of the tree, using some of those inedible mushrooms that were growing before. If anyone else would like to practice with them, do feel free. I only ask that you follow proper safety precautions.

[There's a pause.]

Ah... this may be inappropriate to say after that. I don't know how everyone feels when someone disappears from this place... from my own experience in traveling other worlds, I believe they are sent home. But of course, that is not always a good thing.

I'm sure his absence has been noted by some of you already, but Sir Eren [because he's not here to huff] isn't here anymore.

03 πŸ’Ž AMBER
I was thinking about our living situation as of late. [ Some people waste time on greetings, Rin surprisingly forgets to at times. Consider this an invitation for open conversation. ]

Sometimes newcomers show up and they have no idea what's going on. Not that we fare any better these days--but I mean, they arrive confused. Often people who are confused lash out. Why just a couple weeks ago, someone tried shooting arrows at me when I approached them in a distressed state. [ Everyone who had felt attacked by Noire please raise your hands now. ] Perhaps if there had been someone there who was trained to speak to her properly, then that sort of attack would have never taken place here.

Considering our lack of medical supplies and overall lack of doctors, it's a good idea to recruit individuals to work as part of a welcoming committee in order to combat these disturbances. Having someone helpful approach a newcomer might keep them from desperately trying to defend themselves and destroy what little property we've managed to accumulate here.

Initially I was thinking just speaking with them might be good enough, but why not give them a little welcoming gift as well? They're going to be our neighbors from now on so we must encourage good relations right from the start. I was thinking I could sew them slippers with the leaves since those are easy to produce without offending anyone... unless we get someone who doesn't have feet like a mermaid. Geez, that might be troublesome.

Ah! That's right. We should concern ourselves with the topic of clothing as well--if no one else has started a conversation about that? Okay, I can do both. Let's talk the welcoming committee and clothing situation right now.

[ Clearing her throat. ] If you're useful in any way or have some suggestions, I'll have them now.
