Welcome Back, Adventurers!

The wagons rolled in, the ship anchored, and the wayward journey has ended back at the tree.

After putting the sword where it now belongs inside the life Stream, it's time for a little award, isn't it?

Appearing outside the tree after the sword has been inserted is normal-sized slice of chocolate cake, enough to feed everyone in tree and more!

Come relax, talk about your adventures and catch up. Enjoy your victory!

[Kit considers this for a minute. She never met King Claudis, but other cats respected him. Plus he'd raised Lion-O and Tygra, and they clearly loved him, so he couldn't be all bad.]

I think King Claudis did what he thought was right for Thundera. But to him, I guess that meant keeping things the way they'd always been. He was strong, and other cats respected him, but from what people said, he didn't really change much.

I think that's why the Sword of Omens picked Lion-O. He's different, and wanted to find a better way of doing things than just being the strongest so we could boss everyone else around.

A king who does not know its people needs and troubles, could they be a true ruler for their people? Perhaps this happened for his heir to be aware of the struggles and is able to do what his father could not.

[She says and remains silent when she hears a sword picked the new ruler.]

Do you think he is worthy?

[Kit can only shrug slightly.]

I never met King Claudis, so I only really know what others say about him. But he did raise Lion-O and Tygra, so he can't have been all bad.

[At the question about Lion-O, though Kit looks thoughtful for a moment.]

I think he is, yeah. I mean, I'm just a kitten, so I'm not an expert or anything. But he's doing a good job so far, and has done more to unite the animal tribes than any king in... I dunno how long.

It is rare for a king to raise their children. Usually, they are assigned caretakers.

[Because there is no time for anything except for the kingdom. She wonders about Kit's king rather than his predecessor.]

I see. It must be fate for him to rise up after the ruin brought by the predecessors.

Well, yeah, there were probably tutors and servants and things too; lots of rich families have those. But he was still their papa, and that's a special thing, whether you're a king or a farmer.

From what they've said, Tygra spent more time with him than Lion-O did. But they both loved him a lot and wanted to make him proud of them.

[Maybe that's a universal thing with kids and their papas? If not it probably should be. Because reasons.]

You know... I sort of think it is. There's supposed to be a legend about Thundera's greatest king, but I only ever heard it once when I was really little, so I don't remember it that well. What I do remember sounds like Lion-O though.

I suppose that could be the case.

[She reluctantly consents but she is uncertain about that. She has not spent any time with Mordred, although her existence was kept from him, and Uther sent her away to be looked after by Ector when she was still too young to have any meaningful memories of her biological father.

She feels no obligation to make her father proud, however, she knows that Mordred did seek her approval all her life.

She smiles when she hears that.]

Then he is prophesized to be this ruler. You should not worry, fate will favor your people.

[Kit nods.]

I guess. It's a lot easier to not worry here, when Mumm-Ra isn't after us all the time.

I mean, I still worry about everybody and hope they're OK; just cause we'll probably win in the end doesn't mean people won't get hurt in the meantime. But... it's easier to think things will be OK once you're outside of them and don't have to deal with them every day, you know?
