| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

[ His eyebrows rise minutely. ]

No, it's just a firefly. They don't do nothin' except fly around and glow.

Fireflies are tiny! There's no way you could catch that in a jar! There's absolutely no reason for a bug to be that big. I can't accept it.

[The fact that she has no choice in the matter doesn't really register. Nor does the fact that her classification system for insects. All she knows is that she doesn't like that thing and it needs to be dealt with somehow.]

[ Gotta break it gently, huh. He smiles wanly. ]

We might've been shrunk so it looks bigger'n it is.
superbdianthus: (did i leave the stove on?)

Shrunk? I haven't been shrunk! I think I would have noticed.

[This says a great deal about her powers of observation.]

[ It does, but Buck's had a long history of being patient with angry scrappers (See: Steve Rogers). He just gestures around to the tree. ]

Honestly? I think we have.

[Naotora looks up towards the ceiling and around the room, taking in her surroundings again with the new context under consideration. Yes, things seem to be a bit larger than one would expect (the bugs, especially), but it's no different from Okayama Castle. Everything in Okayama Castle is larger than one would expect it to be. Its lord included, for a certain definition of "larger."]

I'll concede it might look that way...but it isn't as if that's something that can happen.

I have moth wings.

[ Flatly said, as he gestures around. ]

We're in a tree. I think "unlikely" isn't the main question.
superbdianthus: (did i leave the stove on?)

[personal profile] superbdianthus 2015-03-24 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Her standards of "unlikely" are clearly very, very different.]

The wings are strange...

[Really, she hadn't thought too hard about them. It's not like she can really see her own, considering they're on her back. If it weren't for the fact that she had to use them to fly and the fact that they make drawing her sword a little difficult, she might not have noticed them at all.]

But that doesn't mean we shrunk! And what do you mean we're in a tree? This is a castle, isn't it? It looks like a castle.

[ Oh dear. ]

It's a tree, [ he walks over to the window and gestures outside, for her to take a look herself. ]
superbdianthus: (my nose itches)

[She follows him to the window and looks out. Things do certainly look quite large outside, she'll give him that. She's pretty sure she's never seen so oversized a forest, but that doesn't mean that they don't exist. On another island, maybe? Also, even though there's a forest outside the window, why should that mean they're in a tree?]

We're in a room, though. There have been two rooms so far. Trees don't have rooms inside them.

They do in the Hobbit. [ It's the first thing that comes to mind, but hobbits lived in small holes in the ground. ] Well, best I can figure is we're either dreaming, or all very drunk.

[ Except in his case, he's most certainly dead. ]
