Glimmer, glitter, shine...

| characters | Everyone!

| date/time | March 15, all day

| location | First Floor

| rating | Currently G

| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

[Luckily, Chora's just being a shit because Ramiel appears functionally useless compared to everyone else. She's got no inklings of his technological origins yet, and better for it.]

Sounds like pest instead, hm? Could try to help with problem; have had this happen to me also before. Nothing good thumping cannot fix--

Oh? Giants? [Now this is intriguing; with a soft grunt, she pulls herself back upright and promptly gets to fixing the fluffy mess now on top of her head.] Big as dragons? Or bigger? Hate fighting dragons. But something this size...Must be exciting. And lucky that equipment heals too; only have Mere for healing now.

...Well, did. Have nothing now, s'pose; lucky you. Offence is hard position to take at times.

[ Talking about abductors is much more interesting than arguing about her Accessory, so she just moves on. ]

Huge is huge. Five human-lengths, up to ten. They're kind of like human skeleton machines, very fast and very strong. So we'd need to be fast and light.

[ How does one explain abductors. ]

If you get hurt, I can heal you. [ Or try to, at least. ] If you're intending to go to any dangerous places, lemme know.

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-22 09:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Talking about things you can kill is the best thing ever!!! Clearly this is destiny.

Or maybe it's just Chora being a loser; she's clearly more than a little excited about discussing GIANT THINGS TO KILL FOR PROFIT, hands working even faster to flatten down all that flyaway hair and legs merrily swinging away.
] Could be dragons, if had children with Garlean machinery! Fantastic! Am good with being fast and light; cannot afford to be weighed down, when need to fight close.

...Sounds like would love to fight such things, especially if can have healing. Fight on own usually, but for big things...Needs teaming up. Could be fun, fighting with you and seeing Thorn in action.
millionyearsentence: (mm yeah cool story bro)

[ Mm, potential allies are always good. ]

For us, it's necessary. They come and steal our people, steal our food. [ Gross. ] 's usually work for us, but the more adventurous type do it for sport. There's even a ranking of how good you are at downing them.

[ Not to mention that she's kind of near the top, but details. ]

If there's anything big we'd need to take down, I'm game. [ She didn't quite have any other skills, so... ]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-24 12:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Only way to make people take up such work is to make sport of it; adventuring is made to be glorious and exotic, but is just lying in dirt and bleeding on nice clothing. No one will sign up for this without promise of victory.

[Hell, it's why she became an adventurer; no one ever mentioned the pooping in holes or repeated dying part, only the songs and riches part. But it's necessary work all the same, whether you fight giant robots or bandits attacking refugees.]

Alright, is pleasure to join forces! [Cue 'Terpsichora has joined the party!' message across the screen here.] Never hurts to know who to round up for fight when civilians scatter, haha! May even play nice with, ah. Friend. To make things easier for all, 'course.
millionyearsentence: (conversation)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-03-25 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
[ Promise of victory, huh... In her world, it was necessary. If you wanted to even gain anything of worth for yourself, you needed to fight.

They both aren't exactly standing up parallel to each other, so she decides to save the handshake for later. ]

Thanks. I'm looking forward to working together with you.

[ She casts a glance downwards at where Ramiel was waiting before continuing. ]

It might look peaceful now, but I don't think it'll last forever. We'll have work sooner or later.

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-28 07:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Following Wyrden's gaze back down to Ramiel, she hums thoughtfully and clasps her hands in her lap. He's so weird, and there's something about him that just...Screams for her to destroy him. Pity that Eorzeans don't have a term for Uncanny Valley.]

'Course; all places have undercurrent that needs destroying. Best part about job; will find employment everywhere, haha. Everyone wins with adventuring as trade; money isn't bad, and can do small part to help those who need most.

Would be nice to have militia already here. Took load off mind knowing militia back home could help with actual threats...And who would be General, anyway?
millionyearsentence: (i'm listening)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-03-28 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Chora's sentiments towards Ramiel doesn't go over her head, but she doesn't comment on it. People from other worlds tended to have negativity towards him, that's what she noticed.

But anyway. ]

Mm, that's true. So far, I haven't seen anyone who might be capable enough - or they've just not stepped up yet. I think acting by ourselves is enough.

[ After all, there aren't many people here. Not much to police, too. ]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-03-29 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
Might have to be you.

[Said simply, as she fixes one side of her tights. It needs to be someone, and it certainly won't be her.] Could accept this, I hope? Seem the type, and one already follows you.

For now, though, just us is enough. Seems like capable team so far, and will be easy to see if anything is wrong. ...This means I have excuse to scope out new talent, though? [You get that look off your face right now, young lady.]
millionyearsentence: (give me like 3 seconds)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-03-29 11:59 am (UTC)(link)
[ To that, she just shrugs. ]

I'm a soldier, not a leader. There's bound to be someone better than me. [ She's reticent, to the point, and can't do motivational speeches for nuts. Plus, being in the limelight isn't something she's comfortable with, and she doubts people would listen to her due to the nature of her world.

Many people have pickles with that, for some reason. ]

Uh, if you want to, I guess.

[ :/a ]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-04-03 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Same. Just thought would suggest it, but if is not to taste then no point forcing you into role. Something reliable about you, if excuse my saying so; find this important in people, since am so lacking in it myself.

Will have to keep eyes doubly peeled, now. [CHORA NO STOP IT YOU CANNOT DO THAT THIS IS A PG GAME.] Perhaps someone with similar mettle to Flame General Raubahn will come, and search will end early--

Actually...[And here she looks completely serious, fixing Wyrden with a concerned frown.] What kind of leader is to your liking? What person would be easiest to serve under?
millionyearsentence: (hmm yeah that's true)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-04-04 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Not so reliable, huh... well. She has nothing to say about that, merely doing her job, as always.

The question makes her think, as before. ]

I don't know, honestly. Where I come from, we aren't given a choice as to our leaders, so I've only served under one type. [ The tyrannical type, which many of the people here don't seem to like. ] I'd prefer someone reliable and straightforward, though. People who muddle around are either kinda slow, or sneaky.

[ It's just how things are. ]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-04-04 01:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. So...Think you would like Flame General Raubahn also; is exactly this kind of man. Think this is best kind, so is easy to tell where you stand and what you are worth. Can always see motives; this is important also. Thinking never hurts, but overlong sees opportunities missed.

[They seem to be on the same page, at least; that bodes well for the future Treegame Army. Now they just need to find someone who fits that description. Perhaps looking for all of the battle-hardened sorts and having a huge pow-wow would be best to sort the wheat from the chaff?

After all, Chora's a total flake but she's not going to nominate kids for the role of a general. That's Gridania's schtick, and she hates that stupid place.
] Alright...If see anyone, will tell you so can get measure of them. Think it best if we are both in agreement over leaders, or possible ones anyroad; in-fighting is worthless.
millionyearsentence: (vaguely concerned)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-04-04 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Frills and dithering never did come handy, especially when push came to shove. For the short year that Wyrden did remember after her amnesia, wasting time only meant weakness. What they needed was a leader who was wiling to make decisions at a snap. Perhaps in a time with more bountiful resources, they could have that kind of luxury... but no more. ]

Of course. [ Though it seems so far that they've been agreeing quite a lot. ] We'll see. There doesn't seem to be too many people here, so it shouldn't be hard.

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-04-06 09:53 am (UTC)(link)
[There's no better way to sum it up, really; thinking and planning and plotting is a luxury for when you have the element of surprise. Given that they know barely anything about anything here, they need someone decisive and smart.

Damn it, this is going to be hard and she's a little worried about what they're going to do until then.
] True, but also lowers possibility of finding someone worthy. What if all are soldiers or civilians, and no leaders? What if something happens before we find decent leader?

Think we will have to learn to step up, just in case. Do not like idea, but least know what we both want in leaders, so know what to aim for.
millionyearsentence: (mm yeah cool story bro)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-04-06 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
[ That's true. She scratches the back of her head for a few moments before replying. ]

Well, if we're desperate, I don't mind. [ But only if there isn't anyone else. ] I'm a bit more worried about Ramiel. He hasn't been functioning very well since we came here, and people don't like him for some reason.

[ Maybe it's a cultural thing, but she doesn't see any issue. ]

[personal profile] ungirlish 2015-04-08 09:23 am (UTC)(link)
Do not worry, would not leave you to shoulder burden alone and unwilling. And hopefully will not need leader until long after one is found...

As for friend? [Humming almost playfully, Chora rolls her head from side to side in thought before promptly tipping over her perch until she's upside down again.] What exactly is meant by 'functioning very well'? Cannot help with no wings, but if is simple matter of charisma, might be able to teach him how to come off less standoffish.

Perhaps. If he is willing to learn, 'course. [OH MY GOD] Friend of ally is also ally until shows as otherwise.
millionyearsentence: (hmm yeah that's true)

[personal profile] millionyearsentence 2015-04-09 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[ She doesn't expect any less of Chora, so much of her words are simply acknowledged without much statement.

The last sentence, however, is met with a sharp chuckle. Wyrden isn't the sort to laugh too long, so this is all she will give. ]

Thanks, man. [ IT'S TEMPTING, BUT... ] But he's an android, so there's some programming thing going on there. If we'd had Julien or some other Citizen here, they'd be able to do stuff. Right now, I'm just improvising.

[ A sigh. How troublesome. ]

He doesn't get wings, too, for some reason. Maybe it's just some.... eh, robot thing.

[ Even though he has a human body... but she doesn't know that. He's practically a lobotomized human. ]
