| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

Arno rubbed his forehead. "...When I thought I've seen anything..."

What was stopping it all now? He was sure this wasn't the end of the crazy new things people would throw him in the nuthouse for at home if he ever even breathed so much a word of. Fine, alright, large bird, alright.

"So, I'm either smaller or you're large. Is that is?"

Not really talking as if Yuuya had an answer, so Arno felt the need to actually apologize. After all, it probably wasn't the giant talking bird's fault this was happening. At least, Arno hoped not. Another sigh.

"Sorry, you've probably heard of this plenty since you arrived."

"The world is filled with endless wonders, my friend. I think we're both smaller, in fact." He gestured carefully with a feathered arm, not used to the feel of it. "Certainly if I were my proper size moth wings wouldn't carry me very well. Or so I would think."

He gaped his beak open in what somewhat resembled a smile. "Oh, no fear. It just means I've an advantage over most of you - is it too insufferably smug, saying that?"

"Really now? Because certainly I would've pegged you as a normal pigeon if it were for my size, apparently."

Now, he felt like he made no sense himself. At least Pigeon Man didn't seem offended, maybe he knew how weird he was to see for some.

"A little, but maybe you deserve it. You're already used to wings and such."

"Normal? Well, there'd no call for that." He winked to show he was teasing. It's flattering to be called extraordinary, but he doesn't mind being called normal. Or many things that are actually insulting.

At the mention of wings he moved the fuzzy white ones laid along his back. "I am somewhat, but I do have to note that yeah, these are new. I'm used to them being considerably more flexible! So everyone here's got things to learn I suppose!"
sirpisspot: (dats funny)

Please forgive him Yuuyu, his pigeons were a few inches at best. The crapped on the streets and cooed a lot, that was it. "I meant normal as in-" Arno tried to say a little bit on the defensive, but then he dropped it. "Actually, it doesn't matter. I probably have no right to use 'normal' anymore around here." Oh wait, Yuuya was teasing? Well, alright. That just made Arno stupidly silly and huffy, maybe it was even funnier now.

"Still, you're probably better off than most of us. Despite you...well, apparently, not having your other wings?"

Then again, Yuuya having his old wings and the new wings would look even creepier.

Yuuya's tail shook from side to side in a bird laugh, no less silent than the one before. "It's all right, really! There, there. You can call me a lot worse than that."

His clawed hands had feathered arms with the look of wings, but they were easy to miss folded and tucked against his body. "Well, they're attenuated. I suppose I must accustom myself to fingers, huh?"

He still couldn't believe he was having this conversation with a bird. Arno was feeling so, so stupid right now. Caught off guard by the bird too, what fun.

Still though, what happened to this guy was very strange. Arno actually tilted his head at what he was seeing.

"Sooo, while most of us are trying to get used to wings, you're going to need to get used to fingers? The tables have been turned, I guess."
espigeonage: (☊Hoping that I)

Obligingly Yuuya stretched out an... arm, to show him. The feathers were almost like very wide sleeves, coming off a limb that was almost, though distinctly not, human. "I know! Maybe I should swap lessons for lessons, or something."
sirpisspot: (i think youre full of shit but)

Arno crossed his arms in amusement, ah, so the plot did thicken a little bit. Perhaps then, help could be had and so could it be given.

"Might I propose something then, mon ami?" Arno suddenly suggested. "If I teach you the art of using hands, perhaps you could help a fellow man how to use these wings of ours?"

"Normally I'm the one to start calling people 'my friend'," he chided gently, winking again. "Your terms are agreeable, though! I'd like to get up to speed, it's a little disheartening having low dexterity! My job depends on fine manipulation skills, I hate to think I couldn't do it anymore."

Ah, so it knew French. The pigeon knew French, okay. What a weird bird, seriously. Could he actually trust this one? Maybe Arno just had to, despite how crazy he felt for seeing the giant bird to begin with. Arm's length, for now, Arno supposed. He couldn't be picky here, since there seemed to be different types of folks all over.

"Hard to really manipulate anything yet," Arno said, simply. What kind of work did this pigeon do anyway? Jobs for pigeons?

Nothing made sense, and it was better to not think about it.

"Which is why we need to work a little bit closer together if we're to get anything done."

"Yeah, there's not a lot to hold on to anyway. I had to use my beak to set up my wing-crystal, like an animal." It's not immediately obvious, but he wrapped a wire coated in white plastic around his gem and wound that around his leg, above the ankle joint that looked like a backwards knee.

"A good point. Since I suppose this isn't something easily fixed... well, we'll see I suppose."
