Glimmer, glitter, shine...

| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

Huh. Well, Link wouldn't be the first to look a little deer-in-headlights when Kyle introduced himself. He probably would have done the same if he was still that troublemaking kid from Lelcar.

"No idea. Pissed off any True Runes lately?" Generally speaking, when Kyle found himself in trouble he at least had some idea of why. But this time, nothing really came to mind. Where was the justice in that? If he had to be punished, shouldn't he at least get to have fun doing whatever it was he was being punished for?

Was that implying that Kyle's usual introductions were stunning? Or that his height was enough to render most people speechless? ... Then again, it was just a matter of recovering from the initial shock of running into someone really.

"... True runes?"

Link stopped fiddling with one of the movable screens to consider Kyle at that. Were those the magical artefacts of Falena? He couldn't say for sure... Maybe such things existed in Hyrule too, but the Gods had never deemed it necessary for their Hero to come across it. It would probably help things along if Link were a little more verbose with his questions, but alas...

"Whoa, you mean you've never heard of them? They exist in other worlds, so... Okay, never mind. The 27 True Runes are the runes from which all others were born from. They're what allow the universe to exist. And they've got a mind of their own. They'd totally be capable of something like this, but... I don't see why. The Sun Rune should be safely back in Sol-Falena."

Hmm hmm, how strange. "You've seriously never heard of them? Weird."

Link just kept shaking his head throughout Kyle's explanation. He has never heard of such things and the creation story for Hyrule that Lanayru told him was so radically different from what Kyle was suggesting... This couldn't be as simple an explanation as another realm connected with his home kingdom.

"Could this tree be a bridge between our worlds?" he suggested. Because the Triforce sounded nothing like the 'True Runes' that the other man was talking about... Or at least, from what Link gathered the Triforce was neither sentient nor was the world dependent on them for it's continued existence.

"I mean... anything's possible," said Kyle, though he looked a little skeptical.

"Why us, though? And why without any explanation? I mean, usually when I'm at the mercy of mysterious forces, there's some rhyme or reason behind it."

Was that a slightly envious look on Link's face? It might have been. It seemed that someone was more accustomed to being dropped into places with very little instruction and a lot more wandering around than the knight he was talking to.

"Perhaps it is for our experience."

That seemed the most sensible answer. So many people, so many different worlds... Maybe this tree wished for a resolution it could not find on it's own?

"Uh... yeah, could be." Though honestly, Kyle didn't think he needed this particular experience.

"I'm Kyle, by the way. Nice to meet you."

"Link," came the quiet reply. For him, this experience seemed very similar to what he'd already gone through in Hyrule but it could be that the tree needed help. It wouldn't be very heroic of him at all if he didn't rise up to the occasion, right?

"Nice to meet you too, Kyle."
