Glimmer, glitter, shine...

| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

She laughed, a touch sheepish. One hand came up to rub at the back of her neck. "You wouldn't be saying that if you saw me flying earlier," Korra said. "I bowled some people right over."

Commiserating over their flying woes made it easier to ignore how crowded the room was getting, at least.

Hahahaha, Arno actually chuckled. In a good way, like, he wasn't laughing at Korra herself. Just maybe the way she put it was somewhat humorous. Good on her for making a pretty lost man, who wanted to go home really badly might he add, laugh for a moment.

"Oh, I'm sure," he said. "Perhaps doing that here wasn't a good idea. However, I suppose one must start somewhere."
braavado: (You were tossing me around all day)

"It seemed like a good idea at the time," she admitted, the corner of her mouth tugging up in a small smile when he laughed. "I've changed my mind since then."

The next time she tried flying, it would be outside far away from everyone else.

Rough time, he took it. It was time for Arno to shrug again.

"If it's all the same, madame, I'm sure most of us are going to need that sort of practice and we'll all have scars along the way."

He was being rather honest with that statement. Truly, he wanted to take the time for this to be a slightly light-hearted conversation. Korra wasn't one of the kidnappers, just a victim like he was. No point in any hostility or suspicion if none was even found. Seriously, nothing he sensed was off about some people around. It might have made this all a little more bearable, just a little.

"If we're to be stuck here, we all must master these soon enough."
braavado: (I can't get back into the groove)

"Guess so," she said, expression dimming a little in response. Korra glanced around the room again, taking note of all the people who had been plucked out of their homes like she was.

"I'm hoping it isn't a long stay. I was kind of in the middle of something when they snatched me up."
sirpisspot: ([elise] we stand together)

"So were many others," Arno replied straightly for her. "I, myself, was attending some matters, laying them to rest before starting others. Just sitting in a library, and then I find myself in a large tree and having left it all behind."

He was being completely serious. At the very least, he his weapons. He was still armed. Was that intentional, or a major flaw in their captors' plans? Who knew?

"If there is a way to escape, it's somewhere. I intend on finding it."

braavado: (Do you mind?)

"You're not the only one," Korra said, straightening up immediately. "If you're searching for same way to leave, I'm coming with you."

While Korra had a feeling they'd have to figure out who was responsible for all of this first, checking the place for any answers wasn't a bad idea either. They'd at least familiarize themselves with the layout of the hollow tree.

Arno didn't expect for the young woman to straight up and say she was with him in this little adventure. Offer help, maybe. But no, she said she was going. That shown she had guts, and Arno needed allies with guts if he were to stay here much longer.

It was good to have allies, and maybe he just found one. It didn't take him too long. Then again, in this predicament? You would hope to find some. Still, it was appreciated. Arno was in no position to doubt anyone right now, themselves or their skills. People would prove themselves in time, as he knew he probably had to as well. There was just no reason to go about this alone. He nodded.

"Merci, mademoiselle," Arno said, with a genuine expression on his face. "We may need all the assistance we can get."
braavado: (What about when you defeated Ozai?)

Though Korra had her doubts about the tree and whatever adventures they were supposed to be having here, the people in the same predicament as her seemed nice enough. She still needed to be on her guard, of course, but that didn't mean she couldn't at least team up with them for now.

Korra just smiled back at him. "Something tells me it's not going to be so easy to figure it all out, but we'll get there."

She propped a hand on her hip and said, "So where do you want to start?"
sirpisspot: (shit eating grin)

"Nothing is simple, not ever," Arno replied, smile not leaving. He meant for that statement to mean he was willing to work as hard as he possibly could without being overly pessimistic about it.

Arno would've shared the exact same sentiment, but yeah, it sure made things far easier now.

"Well, names I think are a good start," Arno continued on. "My name is Arno."
braavado: (I'm asking you to leave)

[personal profile] braavado 2015-03-26 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
This time her pause wasn't as noticeable as it was before. If other people already knew what her name was, there was no point in trying to hide it from Arno now.

"Korra," she said, trying to smile at him in return. "My name's Korra. Looks like we'll be working together now."

And hopefully something would come of it.
