LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.


One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

Necessary? Who cares? It made me feel better.

[He tips his head back to look up at her then, apparently not seeing anything that interests him enough to keep looking, resumes staring at the Life Stream. It pisses him off worse than the stupid bugs and the stupid people and being torn away from his fight. Well, maybe not more than that. That's probably what pisses him off most. There are things going on that require his presence and he's stuck here with stupid bugs instead.]

And what makes you so special that you could hurt an innocent life?

[She briefly glances over at the dragon as it continues to try and free the poor little bug. That poor poor baby.]

[That earns a smirk as he leans all the way back on his elbows and kicks his legs out, sprawling comfortably only the floor like he owns this little patch of tree. It's probably the sort of thing that's supposed to make someone rethink something horrible they've said, but...he is that special, so...]

I'm a Magi.

[Really, that should be a sufficient answer, but even the other three Magi would give him shit about it.]

Except I'm more powerful that those other losers. I've cast aside shit like "fate" and "destiny," so there's nothing that can hold me back. Basically, I can do whatever I want to do.

[Even more so now than ever. There's only one person in all existence he answers to and he's only doing that because he wants to.]

Let's pretend I understand what a "Magi" is. So you're a powerful ice user or something huh? I've never met anyone like that before. Though, with everyone coming into this place, I doubt you're the strongest person in this tree right now.

[She turns to her dragons and grins.]

What do you think darling? Is hairball as powerful as he looks? What? No? Yeah me neither.

[Then turns to the man again.]

What else can you do, hotshot?

[That's a very, very dangerous question to ask him. If his gravity magic was working, if he knew out to get out of this stupid place, he could probably obliterate it easily. Even without being able to call on all of his magic, even without the ability to call out to the Rukh, he could probably manage Thalg Thalgeyya. But that's a lot of work and he'll probably wear himself out for no reason.]

Not as much as I should be able to do, probably because of that thing, [He kicks a foot in the direction of the Life Stream.] but I'm no lame water magician. It's not my fault you don't know what a Magi is.

[He raises his wand to cast a little Ramz spell at the dragon things, but nothing happens. He curses under his breath. That's three kinds of magic he can't cast. He rarely uses heat magic anyway, but he likes lightning, dammit.]

[Wind won't fail him, though. It's not a big tornado, but it's certainly big enough.]

[The dragon doesn't pay much attention to the two humans, or the giant wind thing that hairballs creates from his pointy stick thing. She does manage to get one good strike at the ice and gleefully watches as the little firefly falls out. This thing is under her protection now. Nobody touch it.

Cynthia is just so amused right now.]

Wind and Ice, handy. So what's your name, hairball?

Are you stupid? Just because I've only cast two spells, that doesn't mean that's all I can do.

[Seriously, what would she have done if he'd actually cast Thalg Thalgeyya? That would have been wind and ice at the same time. Ugh, this means he's going to have to start practicing Light Magic and Sound Magic. He never uses that stuff.]
