| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

"...Pocketing?"

Arno then noticed Link didn't have his wings. He didn't have his wings? So really, they could come off? Or rather, he didn't see them. Unless if they were really tucked in back there. Some people's wings did that, Arno's didn't. A shame really.

In his belt, he had a variety of pockets, mostly filled with bullets for his pistol. He stuck the stone in there, and suddenly, the wings were gone.

Was it really THAT simple? He looked to Link in slight awe.

"Honestly, getting used to this place will take some time."

Funny thing about that was the fact that Link's wings were the sort that folded down rather than back, so Arno wasn't too far off in his assessment. But the Ordonian enjoyed being able to walk around without a cape-like extra on his back. Even if it meant having to reach into his pack whenever he wanted to fly to a different floor. Besides, that cape felt a little too awkward to him; more regal than he could ever hope to be.

"It gets easier over time," Link offered.

... Ah, he should probably try to actually hold a conversation himself instead of relying on someone else, shouldn't he? After a slightly awkward silence-

"How are you adjusting?"

Then he flinched when he realized the obvious answer to his question. Good job, Link, A+.

Did he really need to answer that question? Maybe he did, if he didn't look lost enough to the gent in front of him. Maybe it was small talk? Arno couldn't quite place what it was, because yeah, the answer was obvious. Maybe the guy knew, he flinched.

"I had only just arrived, I'm afraid I'm still getting my bearings," Arno answered calmly. Seriously, it was an honest question in the end of the day. Nothing hostile about it, so to Arno, no reason to be annoyed in the slightest. Besides, he just helped him.

For his part, Link looked more than relieved that Arno hadn't been annoyed by the terrible, terrible attempt at small talk. There was no objective here, no information to collect, no dark artefact to collect and Link just wasn't sure how to go about making conversation with someone without those to fall back on.

"It is a little disorienting." He admitted as he looked around at everyone else wandering the Tree as he said this. "Um..."

Oh Gods, this was embarrassing. What else is there to say that couldn't be found out on one's own?

Arno couldn't claim he was good at small talk, but boy, this poor man was even worse at it. Arno felt a little bad, mainly because he tried his hardest and Arno wasn't giving him much to work with.

He's trying, perhaps I should help him...make it slightly easier.

"It's only as disorienting as we make it. Answers ought to be found, and they will, in due time," Arno continued.

"I'm Arno, by the by. Arno Dorian."

It would be significantly easier if there was someone around here that could do the talking for him, but alas. Midna had returned to the Twilight Realm and Link would never dream of dragging any of his friends from home into the tree, not after the ordeal they'd just lived through.

The effort put forth didn't even matter; Link looked grateful for Arno's contribution.

"Link," he replied. Considering what they were able to do with just the small resistance group and Link back in Hyrule, with all these people: "It will be easier than it might have been on our own."

Arno nodded. He was used to doing a lot of things on his own accord, but even he had to admit this would be impossible to do alone. There was a lot to be thankful for when a lot of people seemed to be on his wavelength and were willing to work closely as well.

It just made everything easier.

"I'm afraid we won't get far alone here," Arno stated. "Our bearings need to be back before any of us do anything."

Arno took out the stone again, and with that his wings reappeared. "Even the smallest and most simple advice surely helps. Merci, Link."

He looked happy to help but the unknown language at the end caused him to look at Arno a little curiously. He has been all over Hyrule but he has never heard this language... As far as he could remember anyway. Still, he was glad he could help, even if it's for something as small as making one's wings disappear.

It may not get them home but it's better than nothing at all, right?

Link started when he realized he must have been leaving the other man hanging and nodded his head with a 'You're welcome.'
