Glimmer, glitter, shine...

| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

Ohh. I see. Well, if it helps, I'm definitely confused and lost, too! I think it's pretty cool around here, but I don't usually handle this kind of stuff by myself, either. [ He plants one hand on his hip and scratches the back of his head with the other. ] Not that I don't think we're gonna be okay! I'm sure everything's fine!

[What a Percy Positive, this kid was. Was he genuinely like this? Or did he just do it to make others feel better? Both were noble, at the very least. Maybe naive a little, but it was kindness. Kindness and support was what a lot of people needed right now.]

I doubt any of us are alone in any of our feelings.

[He just had a thought, this kid was alone? He was ripped from his friends and family? He couldn't be that old. He did say he didn't handle this kind of stuff alone. It must be more rough for him then, so maybe the attitude held a lot more water. Nah, actually, it totally did.]

But it helps to be optimistic about it, I suppose.

[Arno just then cocked a brow. Good lord, it was just a smidge hard to not have the boy rub off on him. Arno could be very serious but...Maybe optimism wasn't bad.]

As long as we all soon find our way out, then yes, it'll all be fine.

See? Now you've got the right idea! [ That's like his job partially in the works. He guesses he hasn't protected the entirety of humanity in the tree, but keeping spirits up is a good start. ] All we have to do is figure out why we're here, and how we got here, and what we're supposed to do since we are here, and we're practically home free!

[...The kid was right. How old was this kid? It didn't take many adults to look at a situation so straight and to the point. He gave the straight and right answer, while also looking the situation in a positive light. He would've made a good speech maker, or motivator. That's for sure.

Never underestimate children, Arno learned that last week. They could be like LΓ©on or this one.

Steven actually also brought up something else.

You know, the little man is on to something. Why are we here exactly? What are we supposed to do here?

Was there some plan their captors had for them? It was worth looking into, as well as a way to escape. Hopefully simultaneously, but if they find a way out first they're gone.

Arno actually looked like he was pondering Steven's words, before turning to him again. He hoped he wasn't out long to make it awkward. He actually gave a small smile his way, approving of what he heard.]

You bring up a good point, perhaps it would do us some good to know what we're up against should we be stuck here. Maybe then, we could use that knowledge and find our own way out.

[Anyway.]

You got a name, little man?

[ Steven's faced more than a few awkward silences in his day. He occupies himself while Arno is thinking by scoping out the rest of the room and the people still in it. It doesn't look like anybody has any idea why they're suddenly here. That makes for one huge mystery, which is cool. But none of the gems are here, which makes it a little less fun. ]

Oh, I'm Steven. Nice to meet you. Do you have a name? It's easier if you do, but I can probably work around it if you don't.
sirpisspot: (dats funny)

Never fear, I have a name. It's Arno, Steven.

[Hahaha.]

Great! I'm glad you came around, Arno. That means it's one down and... the rest of the tree to go to make sure everyone's doing okay, I guess. [ The math seemed easier before he really thought it out. But as a protector of humanity, he has a real responsibility here. ]
sirpisspot: (shit eating grin)

[personal profile] sirpisspot 2015-03-26 04:59 pm (UTC)(link)
That surely is a big responsibility to take on.

[It was kind of endearing actually, but shhh.]

Well, I'm a Crystal Gem. Or... I guess half of me is a Crystal Gem? Protecting humanity is one of our big things either way. So I think it's something I should try to be doing. [ He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. ] Even if it looks like maybe not everyone in here is a human. But I bet this would still be easier for everyone if we could all be friends and work together.
