| summary | A flash of light, and a new adventure.

LIGHT

Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.

The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.

As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

[ ... Chora is really in it to win it, here. He likes her determination. It's a little on the crazy side, though. Of course, Steven could spend all day debating why she's cool and why she also might merit more caution from his side of things. Once he even starts thinking about things like caution, anyway.

He's made bigger jumping gambles on dares or for other reasons various and sundry. But while she's aiming for more of a controlled-fall tactic, he's hanging back a bit on his own and hoping to make progress with some wing-working overtime, tongue stuck out in concentration. Not really any more graceful than Chora's descent, honestly. But he's having fun with it, since he's not falling to his death or anything. ]

Wow, it was... really cool the way you jumped like that! I didn't even see it coming!

[Debating about why spending time with a pugilist who clearly has no regard for the safety of others or herself will only lead to the same place, and that place is boring.

Once she gets back to her feet (yep, totally bellyflopped the landing, magnificent) and shakes the dust off, Chora laughs and shoots him a double thumbs up. Totally a responsible adult here.
]

Didn't do so bad yourself, Steven! Not worst fall have seen, though, and would have tried cushioning you if looked like were in trouble. [Not a lie, though she doesn't exactly realise why she was able to live through worse falls before. It's totally cheating to have the Mother Crystal's protection without even realising it, totally absolutely.] Might have to ask for flying lessons when get more polished at it; always seem off-tempo with flapping.

Oh, thanks. It's good to know there was a cushion system in place. [ His shield bubble would have come in handy for that, too, but he also has to consider that he might have gotten really bounced around in the process. This is the most responsible adulting in the world. ] And it seems like the wings really wanna do their own thing a lot. I wonder if anyone here already had them. I bet they'd be perfect to ask for lessons!
