LIGHT
Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.
The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.
As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

Link | Legend of Zelda; Twilight Princess
... To say it was 'fortunate' might be a matter of opinion.
Already dressed in the forest green of the Hero and with his own gemstone tucked away in the items pouch at his side, he looked a little out of place in this place without any wings to flaunt. Honestly, after he'd figured out how to fly ('Just because your shape has changed doesn't mean your instincts have as well!') Link had just assumed that losing contact with the gem would do something about his appearance. After all, the magic looked and felt enough like the Shadow Crystal that the Ordonian was more surprised by the fact that it was a pair of wings rather than a beast form that afflicted him upon contact.
Still disconcerting, for sure, but Link really, really appreciated this place letting him keep his thumbs.
Which was why he wasn't struggling with his wings as he poked his head into each individual house on the first floor on the survey for
pots to breakhousing or perhaps just being curious about who might have been living here. Hopefully he hasn't interrupted any of his fellow new arrivals...!no subject
Like what if Kyle had been some lady undressing, was Link going to take responsibility for that.
no subject
"Sorry!" came the startled response as Link recovered from his surprise. He didn't even notice the misidentification in his surprise... Thank goodness this man was wearing white otherwise there might have been a serious problem.
And if Kyle had been some lady undressing, Link would have turned red, averted his eyes and stammered apologizes till the goats came home. Obviously.
He looked around before he sheepishly pulled on his earring.
"I thought they were all empty."
no subject
"Well, to be fair, they were." Kyle stepped aside in case Link wanted in or he wanted out. "I'm Kyle, from the Queendom of Falena. Looks like we're on the same boat, huh?"
By which he meant they were both tiny and away from home.
no subject
Well, that explained one thing. Had everyone just shown up all at once? How strange... Link gave the other blond man a nod before he walked in to take a look around. It was nice and quaint and reminded him a little of home. But he turned to look at the other when he introduced himself.
"I'm Link, from the province of Ordon," he replied, though there's a bit of a pause between his name and his home. It seemed like he was trying to parrot Kyle's introduction so as to not seem rude. He has never been outside of Hyrule and didn't know any foreign customs at all.
"... I wonder why we're here."
And while Link has got almost everything else on lock, it seemed the size difference hadn't quite sunk in yet. No, of course gigantic mushrooms, plants and trees were perfectly ordinary! Have you never visited Faron Woods?

Yuuya raised his head, folding a half-winged arm to hide the phone. "Well, and hello to you as well! Shall I ask if you're selling anything?"
no subject
Maybe this was an oversized Ooccoo?
Instead, Link just shook his head no in response to the question. He was just exploring, really, and didn't expect the rooms to have actually had people (and birds!) in them so quickly. Or maybe he had come in later than everyone else? Hmmm.
... The bird looked too soft to be an Ooccoo but it's certainly no Cucco.
"Um..." he looked around, a little sheepish because how would one go about asking what species someone else was? The answer was to do it in one, no time for indecision, there were animals to be petted.
Were Yuuya smaller, Link might have attempted to pick him up
"You wouldn't happen to be an Ooccoo...?"
no subject
was he that handsome, that no one knew what to say without fumbling around first?"Sorry! I'm a gentleman dove, or a fantailed pigeon, take your pick. Come in, then, it's akward having you hover at the door there."
whoops, there goes the late night html errors
... A gentleman dove?
He jumped a little when he realized that he was being rude, hanging around the door like this. So he closed it behind him and motioned into the room. Would he mind if Link took a look around?

She watched Link with narrowed, wary eyes for a moment. "Were you looking for something--or someone?"

finish his door opening animationwalk in and close the door behind him but that might be because of the look Korra has fixed upon him more than anything else. There's a second where he blinks at the girl before raising a hand and bowing in apology. He thought the rooms were mostly empty... But it looks like between his moving between floors and chatting with people he did run into in each room, more and more of them have been filled up."N-no, sorry. Just looking around..."
He looks a little awkward for having barged in. Maybe he ought to knock?
no subject
"It's okay," Korra says, looking just a bit contrite now. "I was just looking around, too. I think these houses are meant for us--the people who just got dropped here, I mean."
no subject
As if to emphasize the point about the houses being meant for them, Link took a look around - still empty and set up in a way similar if not the same as the other houses here - before he gave Korra a nod.
"I wonder why." He paused and then remembered that people weren't nearly as accustomed to his silence as people were in Hyrule. After a moment, he hastily added on; "Why would there be houses like this, I mean."

So, when in doubt, visit the houses. Locals always had useful tips, and sometimes they even gave away good stuff. The first two houses he'd visited, though, had been empty. Furnished, to be sure, but even so they didn't exactly look lived-in. No useful weapons or vulneraries left lying around, either. He was moving on to house number three... and it appeared that someone else had the same idea.
As the man in green poked his head through the door, Owain came up behind him and peered over his shoulder. "Find anything good?" he asked.
no subject
There weren't even enough pots for him to feel comfortable possibly breaking.
As he looked between the empty room and Owain, the look on his face is clear; has the other boy had better luck? All Link has found so far are claimed or empty rooms. It was a little disheartening.
no subject
"I fear all the denizens of this realm may have fled before the great calamity that approaches," he said gravely. That had to be the explanation, right? Why else would all these houses be here if there was no one living in them?
And more importantly, how was he supposed to learn what his heroic quest was if there was no one to tell him?
He was about to suggest moving on to the next home, just to make absolutely sure... when out of the corner of his eye he caught a glimpse of movement within the house. A glow worm peeked out from behind a chair, spotted them, and began to wriggle its way towards them.
In a heartbeat Owain had his sword drawn and leveled squarely at the worm. "Halt, foul beast! Come no closer, if you value life and limb!" It halted, looking as puzzled as a glow worm could, while Owain assumed a fighting stance.
no subject
Link looked thoroughly confused by Owain's dramatic announcement. That was awfully pessimistic, wasn't it? ... But it did make sense, in some strange, fantastical way. If there was a calamity on the horizon, it would explain why the Gods felt it necessary to bring him and all these other people here. He was about to agree with Owain when the glow worm appeared - Link's first thought was immediately about how much Agitha would have loved this wriggler - and the dramatics went up to 11.
The speed at which the Hero put himself between Owain and the worm was commendable really.
"Wait!" he attempted to wave Owain down before he pointed at the harmless worm. "It's unarmed!"
No armor, no pincers, no warning colours of red or purple and no disgusting, bulbous eye spinning about in all directions... It was perfectly benign!

i'd say I was sorry but uh
No thank you for now, he'd figured. Though he'd taken to the sky with these new wings as easily as his first time back home it felt a little like cheating to fly about so freely without his Loftwing.
In any case, this Link's snooping around had, inevitably, lost out to snoozing when he'd decided to sit down and rest. He should've known better than to sit down on that surprisingly cushy bedding, and it's probably a small miracle that the other boy's entering is enough to rouse him into sitting up again and-- ...well. Staring, slackjawed, because what in the world...?
it's like Link was never cool to begin with...
Yet when Link opened the door to one of the last few houses that were available in the tree he found himself stopped short when he spotted another youth in the house. Another wearing the same forest green he was. More than that, he looked so much like himself; the hair, the eyes, the fact that they were dressed so similarly... Was this some trick of the tree?
... It couldn't be. Others would have mentioned it if this were normal.
As if suddenly waking up, Link reached up for his sword but didn't draw his weapon yet. Was it a monster?
that 'face yourself' schtick should be in water temples not forest temples I WANT MY RUPEES BACKhaha Link. haha being cool haha HAHAHA sobs
The look on his face when his eyes met the nearly mirrored set of blue certainly didn't seem monstrous-- there was shock, definitely, but then a look of clear realization... though realistically speaking, that just raised more questions, didn't it?
Did he somehow get flung through time again to get to this place? Perhaps to an era where the Hero's spirit had gone on to... whoever this is?
"You're..."
What could he say, though? You're me? How in the world was he supposed to approach this? If only Fi were here to explain things...
no subject
"..."
This would move much faster, Link thought to himself, if Midna were here. He wasn't even entirely sure if he was seeing things or not; at least the Twili would be incredibly forward about her disbelief over what was happening right here.
In this room.
What.
Faron had mentioned that these were the Hero's Clothes but he hadn't honestly expected the Heroes of old to... well, to look like him.
"..." he laughed quietly before he let go of his weapon and stood up properly, lopsided smile on and brows knitted in uncertainty. "This is... Strange. Right?"

She paused to admire her wings (again), not realizing she had stopped right in front of one of the quaint little houses.
then question is did you bring some for me? haha
He was about to set off to find a place to set up camp when he noticed a familiar face standing in front of the house. How had he not seen her earlier? Once again, his impulsive behaviour causes him to call out before thinking things through--
"Agitha?"
-- Then again, he had no bugs on him. Perhaps their surroundings will be distracting enough that he need not be concerned... Should he be worried about her being here? She seemed more in her element than even Link was.
....PERHAPS.....???
"Mr. Grasshopper! What a pleasant surprise!" She gasped with delight. "Did the lil' bugs invite you here as well? Wonderful news!"
<o> v <o> (also, I swore I replied to this earlier wat)
It's a little embarrassing if he's honest about it.
At her question, he just shook his head. He's not entirely sure who summoned them. Link smiled nonetheless because Agitha's mood was infectious; it was hard to be worried when he saw how happy she seemed to be here. This place seemed better suited for her, what with all the fireflies and glow worms about.
"Have you been well?" No, that's not quite right- "Enjoying yourself?" Better.
