Glimmer, glitter, shine...

LIGHT
Warmth, love and kindness.
The Life Stream glimmers and glitters with joy, swirls of shimmering dust dancing around the ray of life.
It was time for new ones to test their wings.

One by one, new adventurers now arrive in the Tree. As one gain wings and rises to the second floor, another light brings in the next person. Soon, a steady stream of people from all kinds of worlds, times and realities come to join the others. Whether confused, angry, excited or scared, your arrival is welcomed with nothing but joy as the fireflies and glow worms descend to greet their new friends.
The Tree offers no explanation and no reason, but the truth is undeniable.
As you will soon realize, it isn't easy to be tiny.

[Link also steps forward to try and stop this poor girl from hurting what looked like a benign and very friendly bug. He isn't going to blame her for her reaction - because he's met his fair share of terrible bugs - but he isn't going to just let her attack things at random either. Someone could get hurt!
... Or a few someones, judging by that sword's size. Goddesses, what a dangerous situation!
But being a lad of few words, Link just steps forward and waves first to try and get Naotora's attention. Such violence isn't necessary! Look at the concern on his face for the wellbeing of this (not-so) tiny creature!]

[He looks troubled, but how is she supposed to know what he means if he won't talk?! She's used to being in this situation, though. The various squads of men under her command have this same tendency to wave their hands about and look terrified instead of speaking up. It's why she leaves them under the command of the Nadeshiko Brigade if she can. Otherwise she ends up yelling at them just like this.]

And at least he was accustomed to being threatened by women. Alas...]
We're not sure who's behind this, but you shouldn't threaten those helping us.
[his voice is firm, if quiet. He seems the soft-spoken sort, but he doesn't look scared]

[From what she can tell, it's just flying around and looking gross. She isn't all that fond of bugs when they're the normal size. When they get to be this big, she can barely deal with it.]
no subject
[it's a little... succinct by way of explanation, but it was something, right?]
Else it'd be really dark.
[some of the dungeons he's had to walk through were dark and he knows how dangerous fire can be in woods. So really, it was probably for the best that no one started on while this was their only shelter-- Oh wait.
Could it be that-]
Do you... not like bugs?
no subject
[At least she's loud enough that she's scaring most of the fireflies off. Small blessings.]
If there's no enough light, that's what lamps are for.
[Problem solved. She's a genius.]

Skulltulas...]...
[he looks around, then softly points out;] There is no fuel for lanterns.
[sure, he still has his but he's also not reckless enough to try and turn it on while inside the tree. Even the forest temple had torches that were clearly set up to not set everything ablaze accidentally]
Wouldn't it be safer without fire?

[The whole "tree" thing hasn't sunk in yet. It's a strange wooden room to Naotora because she sees a room and the walls are made of wood. End of story. The fact that there is no paneling and the hole in the center of the room ascends as far as the eye can see is beside the point.]
I'm sure there must be some fuel somewhere. Whose castle is this, anyway?
no subject
[this must be how Midna felt when Link asked her questions that seemed obvious to her. But he gives Naotora a wry smile before pointing at a wall]
It's not a castle. Have you taken time to explore yet?
no subject
[Considering how loose the definition of "castle" is where she comes from. Her own castle is one of the few that looks like a reasonable person would expect one to. One that looks exactly like this wouldn't be out of place in the slightest. In fact, designs for something similar probably exist in the hands of the Anegakouji, if they haven't actually built one already.]

Outside. This place is just a tree.
[the way he says this makes it sound like it's the most natural jump in logic. Of course people can live in trees; most of his village was composed of houses carved out of trees whose trunks were large enough to fit families of four or more with room for kitchens and stores]
So using fire is a little dangerous...
no subject
[As usual, she's gotten stuck on something completely irrelevant. Still, it doesn't make any sense to her, especially considering Takeda and his stupid fire pits. Who builds a place like that, anyway? At least this place is a little homey.]
no subject
Not the lamp, the flame.
[he's not very good at this, is he? He mumbles something about 'how to explain' because while he's not the best at immediately recognizing when he's in trouble, he's not above recognizing when he is]
no subject
[This is about Naotora's level of logic. It makes perfect sense to her.]
